  Midfield for Boro
Posted by: Hopalong - 02-01-2019, 12:31 PM - Forum: WBAUnofficial - Replies (10)

Will Harper keep his place?

Will Johansen make his debut?

Will Livermore return?

Harper -  Barry  - Johansen  OR
Livermore - Barry - Johansen OR
Harper - Livermore - Barry OR
Harper - Livermore - Johansen

I think he'll go for 1 above,  but it wouldn't surprise me if he plumbs for experience for this one - so 2.

One reason he may go for 3 above is that Johansen hasn't played for the first team since 15 December.

Who knows what will happen when Phillips is fit!

What would you do if you were Mooro?

  An Actual Rival's Transfer Roundup!

Slow Friday at work...

Looking across the whole month, everyone but Norwich and Derby have strengthened well (but they already have ludicrously big squads anyway!) - Leeds probably needed a couple extra bodies, but they have a massive injury list which is starting to recover - Izzy Brown isn't too far away either by all accounts.

Sheff United have continued Wilder's policy of signing strikers who can't score elsewhere, and somehow making the sum far greater than the players they have, and Villa in fairness have strengthened areas they were weak, albeit in their usual massively overspending way. Grealish's return alongside Carroll in midfield will give them a real boost and I do think they'll make the top 6 unfortunately.

I'd say we've fixed all the gaps we had in the squad, and Harper/Field's emergences couldn't have come at a better time. We're light should anything happen to Gayle, we just need to make sure he's wrapped in cotton wool, but that aside, we have 2 very good players for every position now!

Kiko Casilla  - Free
Mateuz Bogusz (they've given him the number 10 shirt so!)

But it's worth noting they've got Dallas, Cooper and Bamford all back in training after they've all barely featured this season due to injury.

Philip Heise (right back from Dynamo Dresden) - £1m

Sheff United:-
Kieran Dowell LOAN
Oliver Norwood Permanent
Gary Madine LOAN
Scott Hogan LOAN

Out - Ben Woodburn,

Rajiv van la Parra - Loan   (bastard will score tomorrow!)
George Saville - Millwall £8m
Jon Obi Mikkel - Free

Derby County:
Ashley Cole - Free
Andy King - LOAN

Joe Ledley - Released

Nottm Forest:-
Yohan Benalouene - £1m
Pele - Undisc
Molla Wague - Loan
Bonatini - Loan

Kalinic £6m
Mings - LOAN
Carroll - LOAN
Guilbert - Undisc
Kortney Hause - LOAN
Elphwick (returned from loan)

Grealish expected back by mid Feb.

Danny Batth - £3m
Sam Vokes - £8m

Crouch - Part-Ex
Afellay - released
Pieters - LOAN
Martina - Cancelled Loan

A strange air of contentment and positivity around the club, a sell out crowd coupled with the return of Pulis. We all know what’s going to happen.
