I didn't think it was that bad, and there were some positives. A massive bonus for Spurs was the return of Kane, and they are pushing for four trophies for a reason. They're a good side.

I hope Sam picks the team that ended the game as the starting eleven, as looked more balanced. We're down but not out!

Agree, its picking Sawyers for me. The lad clearly isnt upto it, runs around players rather than make a decent challenge or makes a ridiculous challenge by pushing somone over, weak off the ball, never follows his runner (for first goal) and gave the ball straight to one of their defenders for the counter for second goal.

I really struggle to find a reason why he gets picked to be honest.

Just watched the goals again. Sawyers leaves the best striker in the Premier League unmarked for the first. For the 2nd a feeble challenge to win the ball back then saunters back. We really should have been using Field as the holding midfielder up to the Jan window when Okay signed

Best passer we have in midfield

How many assists has he had since he joined? How many big chances has he created this season?

You have to balance it out. Does his passing make up for the amount of goals he costs us? Absolutely not

Best passer we have in midfield
Best passer in midfield in the Championship.
More time on the ball to look up and measure his pass. Defenders who fail to cut out the angles making his passes look like Iniestas.
The Prem is way above Chump level.

Absolutely. I don't really want to knock the guy but both goals can be traced back to him not doing his defensive duties. It's bizarre, he's either just brushed off the ball or lets players drift away from him. In this league it's killing / killed us.

Why lazy? He ain't no Harry Kane but we are West Brom.  I like him and think he adds something.

Maybe I need to watch him closer.

Not lazy just doesn't chase lost causes.

Looked dangerous today, just needs to understand the offside rule.

Showed in 10 minutes he could walk into that Spurs side, absolute class.

Enjoy him for whenever he's selected in the next 15 games as he's as good as gone.

Got to be 50m though.

£50m?  You’re having a laugh.  £30m in a normal market, probably £20m in the COVID market.

FFS. How many times do I have to write this.

He will no doubt have a release clause in his contract.  The value in the release clause will be relative to how much we paid for him.  If the release clause was for say £30m then his agent would say “if you think he is worth £30m, then pay him a salary that a player worth £30m would get.
So..... as we paid around £8m a relapse clause value would be relative to how much we pain and therefore I’d imagine around £15m tops, but probably less than that.

£50m?!?! Big fuckingnarf £30m still an arf but a bit less

Do you think the club wanted to give him a new contract just to give him an increase in wages? Nope... to increase the value in the release clause no doubt and that’s probably why he hasn’t signed the revised contract, so he can leave for a figure a lot less than he is worth to ensure he gets a move.

£50m! I'll have a nip of what he's he!

18m would get him.

It was clear during last season he wouldn't be good enough for this level. He simply doesn't have the athleticism, stamina and speed that's required for the modern game. It was this weakness in the middle of the park which led to the struggle we had during the last third of last season as well, though I don't place any blame on Sawyers for that, Slav was at fault for not fixing that issue.
