Heard this rumour through a contact today that Lai is looking to sell now we're back in the Prem.

From a good contact in the business world in the Birmingham\Midlands area.
Mark this FAQ Orf China.

Wouldn’t shock me if true, but as I said on the now deleted Lai thread nobody is going to pay £100m+ for a football club in the current climate. Not with a global recession, reduced revenues due to the pandemic, the looming TV rights issue with the Chinese, the lack of guarantee we will even be a Premier League club this time next year...
Tbh trying and being able to are two different things.

+ 1 to what Duffers said.

Add to that West Bromwich is hardly a glamorous club.
The contact is reliable, looking to sell beyond that who knows.

Maybe he saw China's thread.
I heard similar last week from a business contact but honestly had no idea how reliable it was or how reliable he is. Seems an interesting coincidence
I'd actually be astounded if he wasn't trying to sell it now, hope it's true if only cuz it'll save China starting another thread.

Agree.

His advisors will have no doubt made it clear there’s little or no chance of us surviving this season and as such he has a choice... hold onto us for a season, hope for a miracle and maybe sell for £120-150M, but also risk having to sell for £50m or less should we go down...

Or try and cut his losses now and get as close to £100m as possible.

There are always parties out there who will want to buy a PL club.
All very surprising after how heavily he's been involved in the Club.

He'll miss the post match banter in the Waggon n Horses, and his cheeky kebab up at The Sportsman.

And Neil Reynolds will be a lost soul with him gone.
Cheers for the free beer
I would be a bit worried by this. His lack of attachment means he's unlikely to give a cow's arse about the integrity of any potential buyer, as long as he gets as much as he can, and I wouldn't trust the Greed League due diligence committee with our future well being.
