England v India Test Series!!..

As I said earlier it’s not a day for bowling, I think it was a total balls up bowling first, they’ve gone on previous tests and not on conditions.

Only watched the last few hours but England aren't threating this batting line up much. Stokes the only one who looks like making something happen. Some tidy stuff from Bashir but India happy enough dealing with him.

Sumptuous Indian batting today, this bowling attack can't lay a glove on them. As good as India were, England were very poor.

And it all stemmed from a baffling decision at the toss. I think wba13 is correct, they've just gone off previous tests and it "getting easier to bat on in day 2 and 3", not recognising how much of a batting day it was today.

The brain-dead decision to bowl isn't at all surprising, is it? The arrogance and stupidly of it sums up the Stokes/McCullum era. No recognition of the conditions or situation, just pure ignorance. Fitting, really.

Have to agree Josh, strange decision at the time and turned out as expected. The aftermath interviews will reflect the arrogance.

Well we have shown a bit of fight in the last hour with Stokes leading the way.

I don’t think it’s arrogance, it’s the norm at Headingley win the toss and bowl. But it wasn’t thought out headingley test usually later in the summer under different conditions, they should have assessed the conditions yesterday, if we could see it was always going to be a batters day why could the players and management.

I'm saying it's arrogance as I suspect the decision was made without respecting the match conditions, and would probably have gone along the lines of 'doesn't matter how many India score, we'll throw the bat around in our innings, so we give ourselves time to chase a difficult total in our second innings'.

Any England-esque collapse. Superb stuff. Anyone else now worried about an innings defeat?
