Growth

It doesn’t need to be a consistent 2% clearly, and you can’t take the OBRs 9.4% as a unachievable target based on current rates when the OBR itself shows that it is achievable in that same calculation.

Arf. In the absence of a recession do you expect this government to deliver growth in excess of 2% during any year? I'd happily take that bet.

I’m just pointing out your need to keep quoting the OBR prediction whilst simultaneously saying that the OBR are crap at predictions

Let’s please also dispense with this narrative that I haven’t raised this before. It was a central plank of the IFS criticism of the job destroying Budget last Autumn.

Have a whoosh you tit.

You talk about fuck all else. Especially now that the Israel apologist stuff has stopped.

It’s not a prediction that Reeves needs 2%+ each year. That’s just arithmetic. If inflation remains elevated above target as I expect it to then she’ll need even more.

Seriously, I can't be the only one who has missed Proth's (probably false) claims that he's been saying this before this last week?

Yes you are. I've been saying it since the election last year.

It's no surprise that the Ginger Fishwife's memo to Reeves demanding even more tax has been strategically released today to gauge reaction too.

You predicted last July what would be needed from the Spring 2025 budget? Impressive.

No, just from the Labour spending plans in the Labour manifesto. It's why it was easy to predict tax rises and the lite financial repression by the the BoE. Growth will not ride to the rescue.
