It's a no from me. His brand of ultra defensive football would have the purists scratching out their own eyeballs. Nice guy and all that, could be successful in the right environment, but I'd prefer someone with a bit more of a playing style. He and his family are based locally so that might be why he would have an interest. (If that isn't enough for you, his family are all villa fans as well)!

Blues were doing ok with Eustace then they decided they needed to be more ‘exciting’ and they got worse after he left to the point they were relegated.

They were doing just fine, as are Blackburn now. But if you thought Carlos' football was boring I wouldn't expect you to be thrilled with Eustace. Very effective manager though at this level. and deserving of a chance at a club that could go that step further. I just don't fancy that football but I could guess his local links may have as much to do with it as anything.

The football was often turgid. Especially from Dec 2022 to the end of that season. Loads wanted him gone after barely getting out of our half at Norwich away and he knew he was getting sacked so let the shackles off against Huddersfield and yourselves on the Friday that put us 6th. He knew he was gone and his reaction towards the directors area showed that.
Sacking Eustace wasn’t the problem. Appointing Rooney and Uncle Tony getting ill was. We’re a league below and I wouldn’t swap Chris Davies for Eustace ever.

He made your squad which was awful at the time punch way above its weight. I was never quite sure what Blues fans expected at the time.

At the start of last season he did, not for the season before. And there has to be element of trying to win games as opposed to not lose them to keep people happy. Hence the threads on here and pills about Corberan being too negative before he left, and with you being in the play offs. It’s a fine line that many managers walk and it’s ok when results mean 3 points

Common sense. We have to listen to everyone not judge on fashion.
He could only turn it down though if it was offered which it almost certainly was not. Him ruling himself out due to a poor interview is not the same thing.

Eustace is a good fit: strong coach whose teams are well organised and achieve more than the sum of their parts. However, his teams are very pragmatic and the Blackburn fan I work with is not a fan at all. Doesn’t bother me but those who thought Carlos’ team was too negative won’t be keen.

Schumacher: inherited Lowe’s team at Plymouth and kept the momentum going. Flopped at Stoke where he didn’t inherit a team. Big no from me.

My thoughts on Schumacher too, really hope we don’t go there .
