Wot I am watching now
Black Doves. Although the storyline was convoluted and far fetched AND if you can get past the idea that Kiera Knightley is as hard as nails (who knew?) then it is quite watchable. Some very good acting in it. 6/10 from me.

Started watching ‘Matlock’ with Kathy Bates . Managed 1 1/2 episodes before giving up. The dialogue was at 100mph not having time to digest it. A poor ‘ Boston Legal’

Shame that, because Bates is usually outstanding.

The plot seems good, but my wife and I couldn’t stand how fast they were talking, it was ridiculous

Good recommendation. Done with it in 3 nights. Decent show, well cast, with an original serial killer story not adapted from the novels.

Nowhere near as good as Bosch but then Patterson isn't as good a writer as Connelly imo.

Season 2 is on the way so will keep an eye out for that, but they'll need another villain, my guess (if going from the books) would be one of the characters from season 1 (no spoilers) along with another original storyline.

For a more faithful adaptation Morgan Freeman played Cross in 1997 and 2001 on the big screen in Kiss the Girls and Along Came a Spider. Both good movies though I haven't seen them for about 15 years.

You know what, my mind went off that way when I was watching it. I was dead certain Freeman did Along  Came a Spider and was called Cross. So thank you for confirming I'm not mental. Smile

Watched the penultimate episode of Cross last night.  Bloody hell it's the creepiest thing I've seen since Silence of the Lambs, but quite compelling.

Superb film. Was then, stands up now.

Great film,  I have to put the air con on when I watch it and even then I'm wringing wet at the end of it.

The gang drive-by shooting  fiasco is brilliantly Shadenfreude,  and the fast-food  restaurant scene inspired me to tell the chef at the Foxhunt on the Halesowen bypass that he was shit.  He served me a burger that could have been a prop in the film.

Mrs Saus and I started this, very enjoyable mindless far fetched stuff. Keira Knightley is hard as nails, see Domino film and those Pirates ones.

Another one here who enjoyed Black Doves and The day of the Jackal.
For something a bit lighter we also liked Man on the Inside with Ted Danson.

Now watching ‘Sticky’ on prime. An enjoyable comedy drama about a maple syrup heist. Daft but enjoying it.

Can't be bothered to read the whole thread to see if this has already been mentioned, but Slow Horses on Apple is outstanding. I am reluctant to say this but a genuine contender to that programme as the best tv drama ever.

Someone a bit further up the thread mentioned Fargo. I started watching the first series, but it appeared that it was the same storyline as the film. What was the point of that?
