I only remember united because they did the treble, I cant remember who won it last year.

At least now we are are out of it we can concentrate on hoping the dings dont win it top 2.

Wigan 6 years ago, Pompey when they sneaked past us 11 years back, and Everton in 95, the only upsets.
Read into that what you will, but think it explains why half the side at the end were still yet to shave.

Worth adding that Pompey had a wage bill on a par with some of the top 4 after ‘Arry was given a free role with the chequebook and Wigan got relegated and have been in League One since.

Granted the day out would be great, but it doesn’t usually end well for clubs of our size!

Josh and co have won the argument so this post is not relevant.

Who has time for 7 pages of warring?

Do you just read what other people say and start the same threads, only using more words?

Arf there’s a seven page thread where this is mentioned twice ffs!
Always down to personal opinion what makes a new thread or is just added to continuing thread. I wouldn't have posted it, if I'd seen Duffers one first. Personally, when I thought this through and did my own research, I thought it proper food for thought as it shows just how unlikely winning it is.

Maybe we could have a thread, about when it's right time to start another thread?

It'd be a never ending thread, as it's subjective. Some boards just have one title like last night would have said Cup Replay v Brighton, and we have to lump everything into it. Personally, I like the more fluid ways we can offshoot into different angles. For instance this thread, so brilliantly started by my creative genius Duffers, is more about the state of the FA Cup than about last night's game.

I think Albion and Blues fans were laughing more than Villa fans when they got spanked by Arsenal in the final.

It is food for thought but frustratingly no matter how you argue this point it still falls on deaf ears / covered eyes. A club in the Championship has a very small chance of winning the cup and the results over the last twenty years back this up. Despite this every year we have the same moaning that we haven’t respected the cup and it offers us a realistic chance of silverware.

Like on H&V where they have a thread about a player signing, then every topic about said player, ends up on that thread, they end up with 375 pages about James Chester.   Rolleyes

So in 18 of 26 years a non big 4/5/6 club has got to the final. Whilst it might not have ended well it was still a cup final.
Don't let the facts get in the way Tom... and 50 years without going to a final I reckon I'd quite like a day out with my Dad before he pops it.

Thank god I live in my world where I still dream that the Albion will strive to get to a cup final and actually win something rather than the world many of our fans live in where success is 38pts 8 wins, 14 draws and 16 defeats and 17th in the Prem and going out in the first rounds of all cup comps to non-league opposition playing the under 13s.

No wonder the country is going to hell in a handcart when many people think ambition, working hard, getting on, striving for betterment is something that should be handed to them on a plate when they start whining when life gets a little bit tough.
