Two good signings for Brentford.

It's criminal how far backwards we've gone in terms of scouting in the past decade.

This is true.

Arguably Bilic has been out best scout over the past 10 years, despite completely ruining it in the Prem

Pearcy is probably yet to find the sports channels when he’s connected to German Tv… racked up quite a bill I’m sure.

Not sure what site it was on, but one of the headlines on my phone newsfeed earlier said we're in talks with Gayle...

I think I would give Gayle a deal. Offer him 2 years, with a third year if we get promoted either this season or next.

Whilst he’s 32, he didn’t play professionally until his early 20s, so much like the GMac he’s probably closer to 28-29 year old currently. His game isn’t overly dependent on pace or strength, it’s all about intelligence and technique and at 32 he’s still got a few good years in him.

The thought of Dike, Gayle and Grant as options is mouthwatering… all three could realistically get close to 20!

Entirely agree SW.  Exactly what I was thinking 2 + 1yr option in our favour.

He's a goalscorer/finisher which we need.

I was going to post this mainstream but I'll just leave it here - medical on Thursday I'm told.   Wink

Two good signings at £33m when we signed the likes of McAuley and Molumbu for peanuts.

Ajayi, Kipre, Molumby, Townsend are not bad signings for what we paid.  O'Shea free?

It's all relative, when you're trying to establish yourself in the PL you can make these signings knowing if they come off each player will double in value. Southampton did it well for years.

Potentially, yes. However, they've paid a similar amount for Lewis-Potter as to what we paid for Diangana and similarly, based on a short successful spell in the Championship. If he doesn't make the step up then in 12 months time it could look like a huge waste of money. You only have to look at someone like Rhian Brewster. Decent loan spell at Swansea then struggled badly in the Prem and his confidence is shot. Sheffield Utd would do well to get a fraction of the £23.5m they paid for him back now.

Southampton's strength was their youth policy, Bale, Chambers, Walcott , Oxlaide-Chamberlain, Shaw, Ward-Proswe et al, together with the buying of up and coming young players

That Twine looks the business, snapped up by Burnley.
