I've not seen anything anywhere.

I doubt if they can.  Has all gone legalistic now.

How long has this actually been going on, then? I've never heard any comments.

FWIW, I think it's a shame, but looking at previous instances of similar events, I doubt it'll amount to much in the great scheme of things.

I've never looked at a young player's careers 5 years on and thought "if only..."

He has decided that this is not enough money. His desire to sign for a big club was shown to be nothing more then an excuse for more money. IMO Cry Pal are no bigger than WBA. That leaves us with the view that Palace are a PL side. If NF stayed and joined in with our promotional push we could also be in the PL next season.
The only answer is he has become disenchanted with WBA and wants to play elsewhere or he simply wants more money then we are offering? And he will sign for "anyone" prepared to pay more.
Pure and Simply put, personal selfish GREED comes before WBA.
Goodbye and good luck NF (Judas)

The irony is that Palace could well be relegated and his wages there next season would probably be chopped in half.

There is no doubt that greed played a huge part in his unwillingness to sign a new contract.  However, after the deal broke down its possible that he might have been persuaded to sign a new contract.

My understanding however is that any chance of him signing a new contract now has been blown out of the water by a massive legal row involving our refusal to send him for a scan at a key time.  I’ve been told that the PFA have had to get involved, as well as lawyers.  There is zero chance of Ferguson playing for the club again. The relationship was cracked before the transfer window.  It is now beyond repair.

at what time was this prag? before he played against Cardiff or after?

I’m trying to find out.  Now that it’s gone legal my source has been less forthcoming

The whole episode wreaks of an awful lot of stubborness and ego. Not a shred of common sense from the lad and his agent and he may as well have stuck two fingers up to Bilic. I always try to keep level thoughts on these things as you never really know the full picture but its hard not to conclude he hasnt been a bit of a tosser.

Ay that the truth. I noticed Dhanda playing for Swansea yesterday and Izzy B playing against us for Luton. There are many more. I'd argue that their leaving has had a negative effect on their careers. Rogers got on the pitch for us last season, what's the chances of him appearing in a Man City shirt?

Exact timing isn’t known and I’m not sure that I’ll be able to find out.  But the gist of it is that we refused to send him for a scan, which had resulted in allegations of negligence, and both lawyers and the PFA are now involved.

Logically, this would seem to relate to the period of his injury up to playing him in the Cardiff game.  B other words, the medical at Palace must have showed up an injury which a scan by us would have shown up, which would have meant that he wouldn’t have played at Cardiff, or that he would have had an operation several weeks earlier.  There seems to be no specific claim that playing at Cardiff actually made it any worse, more that it could have done, and that it was negligent for us not to have sent him for a scan.

A cynic might say that we declined a scan in the hope of getting him sold and securing a fee for him in January rather than him walking away for a lot less in the summer.  A right legal mess.

At the end of the day its a scan. Our medical guys decide in there opionn he doesn't need one and the player and his agent think differently. I can't really see how this can go legal.

They were welcome to get an independent  second opinion if they wanted. I remember Jimmy Morrison (I think) who went against the clubs decision to have an operation. It happens a lot.

And no way was he forced to pay against Cardiff. He could have said no. Plenty of players do.

He's being a twat. His agents being a twat. I just wish they were someone else's twats.

We need to get the pair of them as far away from the club as possible now. We don't need this fucking up our season.

All valid, except that a scan isn’t an operation, it’s merely finding out what the problem is.  Why wouldn’t we want to know how bad the problem is? He’d been out for 3-4 weeks, seemingly with a genuine knee injury, and the suggestion is one of negligence due to our clear vested interest in getting him sold in January.

If you read what I wrote, there is no suggestion that playing him at Cardiff actually did make it worse, but that by doing so we risked making it worse because we had refused to do a scan which would have shown up the extent of the problem revealed by Palace’s medical.

How about all of the players in the 70's being pumped full of cortisone to get through games?
