Maybe we have a different idea of what 'playing the race card' is, but from my point of view, I can't see how I was trying to get any unfair advantage out of the 'game' by 'playing' it, or even how it would apply in this context.

I really appreciate you granting me absolution.

We really should bomb him out, make him train and eat with the kids, ban his family and advisors from the ground.  It's clearly become a distraction around the club and adds to the negatively amongst the fans. We can't afford this in the background.

I'm sure he's a lovely kid, his family are wonderful etc, but let's send out a message. As a club we won't tolerate being held to ransome by some spotty oinkling who would be hanging around Nando's break dancing if it wasn't for out professional, emotional and financial support.

Half a dozen decent games and his head has turned.  Modern day football aye ...

Wow. A poor black man dancing around a chicken shop...that's three for one. Good work.

Nothing to see here.

The break dancing was in reference to his well known ability to break dance.

Is Nando's the exclusive domain of young black people? I didn't know that? I thought it was popular amongst teenagers in general.

Why bring up the fact he’s black then whack in some stereotypes!?

Racism comes in many forms

Incredible.  Dodgy

Why the need for more sarcasm?
If you want to carry on down that path, I'd say it was still a fucking ignorant thing to write.

Sorry, are you the only one allowed to be sarcastic?

Sorry, it might take me a while to come up with something worthy, but you don't have to wait for a response - go ahead and watch and check back after it's finished.
Dont worry I've got catch up
Thanks. No rush, then.
Understandably football fans have little patience with players who want a move away from the club, especially when these players have come through the youth system.

But it isn't a one way street, if a youngster doesn't come up to scratch the club will get not offer them a contract, i'm sure it gives the club no pleasure to do this, for youth coaches it must be the worst part of the job to tell a young player they are not going to make it, especially if the player has been with the club since they were at primary school age.

I don't want to talk about the Ferguson situation as I have no idea how it will conclude, but there is a scenario that if Bilic had not come to the club, he might still have been seen as centre half and it is possible the club might not have wanted to offer him a contract.

I said more sarcasm.

I saw your comment re. O Shea. I can't work out whether you're willfully ignorant, trying to cover up a racist comment with yet more racism in a misguided attempt at humour or just on a massive wind-up. I'm guessing it's a mixture of all three.

That first part is true. Of course, though, the club let many go. Harsh as it is, I think everyone involved is glad of the chance. Before our academy status my mates' son was with Albion. There were 60 in his age stream and Albion kept just one. He makes a living coaching at cricket now but I've never heard him say anything about regretting his time at the club. It's a ruthless business but I'd have been happy with a chance at it.
We clearly took our eye off the ball, re Ferguson and should perhaps have offered him a rise and extended contract as soon as he made the squad. I hope we have learned from this.
