Zohore didn’t cost £8m and we got £10m for JRod.

We made closer to £20m as well

We only got 5 for Jayrod now, 5 is to follow

It’s a guaranteed payment in 12 months though...

If I bought something off you and paid you £5 today and £5 next week, I’d have paid you £10 for it

You’re right but in terms of calculations for 19/20 season it’s 5m, as the spend for Kenneth is 4m

Clubs work on seasonal budgets and incomings and outgoing, could all change next year for example if we get promoted.....see the Villas recent activity

I take your point that promotion would improve our budget, but I cant see Lai and Jenko spunking £140m in a summer window Big Grin

Reminomics :-
The Seals have managed to blow £134 million on 12 players average £11.17m each
Most will be 4 year contracts with the transfer fees paid over 4 years.
Costing an average of £2.8 million per players per year X 12 = transfer expenditure of this year of £33.5 million
Some hidden costs - Signing on fees and Agents cost I'm guessing 10% = £13.5 million
Of course salaries have not been included within these costs.
But for example 12 players at £60K/wk would be at least £36m per annum.
So a break even fee of £83 million this season on just the new players would be required.
Following seasons would be £70 million.
That a lot of dosh even for the wealthy owners - bearing in mind PL prize money - £100 million (minimum)
