Also, we where in or Austin very early in the window, & he decided he wanted to stay & fight for his place at Saints, how people can now claim he's our plan x or y is beyond me.

Bilic likes Austin and tried to get him to West Ham a couple of times, so it's no shock he'd be high on our list of targets.

Saints fans have never taken to him, but the more sensible ones amongst their fans do agree he was never given a fair crack of the whip - and that he's the kind of player fans will take to as he's a real nasty git on the field and winds the opposition up.

Not a chance he'll be offered anywhere near what Gayle would be paid. Austin will be taking a pay cut as he's done nothing in the game for 5 years. 

The reality is he's gone stale a long time ago and is choosing from Bristol City and West Brom.

if he didn't ask for the transfer won't they have to pay up at least part of his contract in any case?
