Yes, Bilkul have made mistakes, but so have plenty of new owners. Hull are doing well now, but they've had a bumpy ride for a few seasons and chose to get rid of Rosenior. Probably plenty of other examples too.
It's not very stats driven to think about luck, but weirdly under Lai, despite the first relegation, we had quite a bit. A loans manager who happened to stop the club falling to pieces post relegation, accidentally stumbling on one of the best Championship players in recent times, Brentford falling apart at exactly the right time and Corberán bizarrely getting the sack after eight weeks, ensuring he was available for us.
