From the OS

We’re delighted to announce Mark Miles has returned to The Hawthorns, rejoining the board as Executive Director.

Mark provided 22 years’ loyal service to the club prior to his departure as Managing Director in September 2025.

He has served under three owners at The Hawthorns and led the club through its 2024 takeover by Bilkul Football Group.

As Executive Director, Mark will provide oversight and governance to all areas of the club in addition to direct leadership and external facing duties, reporting directly to Chairman Shilen Patel

I think I've got an epileptic fit reading that.

Jokes aside, he seems a steady pair of hands in a tricky time.

So a bloke who knows the club, loves the club and is good at the admin side of things returns and that's a bad thing? Next step is Dominic Price in as Sporting Director

FFS!

Love a good moan don't you.

Bet you've complained about the weather at least 10 times already today.

Hope your voice in good shape and you're practicing your booing in hope of getting to do it lots tomorrow.

I believe Miles only left because of Nestor, Patel has now realised his mistake got rid of the Clown and bought a real Albion back on board. At least we know Patel is not afraid to act if needs be.
I think there will be a lot more positivity around the Hawthorns with this appointment. Time will tell.

As an ex poster said to me just, behind Jenkins this guy Miles knows the club better than anyone. It's completely sensible.

There's a type of fan, and all society has them, that loves to scorn everything when things are going wrong as if they are intelligent doing so.

They aren't- they're just miserable and a drain making bad times worse.

It's crap times, but Patel is trying to do his best and most decent fans can see he's not deliberately got us into this mess. We can forgive this rather than an tiny near invisible Chinese man who showed no interest whatsoever.

I can't see any downsides to bringing somebody in who knows what a football club - especially this one - should run like. Definitely a step in the right direction

Fugging car park and high viz man! Sure that was what he was referred to when he was too small time the last time he became MD.

I have no idea if MM is the solution, but I’m glad it feels like Patel has realised there is a role for experience and that him and his Yankee tech friends can’t do this alone.

I think right now he is the solution - he knows the club, understands the role and hopefully can steady the ship over the next few months and get Price in the door and supported.

Long term not sure he would be the answer but as I say fire fighting is a must right now and he seems the best option
