As per my early point, the people who run America are quite content to fund both 'sides' in elections and then watch the proles fight like rats in a sack on approved topics.
And it works, as will be evidenced by a large % of 'the right' justifying half a dozen Feds shooting a nurse who was defending a peppersprayed woman whilst exercising his 2nd amendment gun rights. I could make the same point about 'the left' tying themselves in knots on a number of issues when it's'their side'.
But don't expect the fundamentals to ever be challenged - those are unchanged over multiple decades (Brian Berletic of New Atlas is the best exponent of this theory I have come across).
All that said, as pointed out above, we've got our own problems to deal with (hopefully based on a set of morals and principles and approached with an open mind and questioning attitude), so best leave them to it, the place has always been a bit nuts.

Berletic is a kook.

It’s looks like Trump, Miller, Vought et al are big admirers of George Orwell’s work.
Turns out 1984 was decades too early!
Tim Walz just nailed it:
“They told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. That was their final directive.”
That’s exactly what’s happening right now, ignore the video, ignore the facts, obey the narrative.
Bovino even dresses the part!
Current regime look like a hybrid of the Nazis/Sopranos/Reality Tv.

Bovino, and I’m being extremely charitable here, was speaking in the early stages of the aftermath before the clearer video was widely available. He’s still a cunt for what he said.
Kristi Noem, speaking a few hours later after the wide availability of the so called pink lady video still decided to go with the line that the murdered man violently approached the agents with his weapon drawn and was legitimately taken out by the agents as he posed such a threat to them. This isn’t some random weirdo on X or Facebook. The literal head of one of the agencies involved is blatantly lying to us when we can easily see that she’s doing so and at the same time is defaming a man her goons have just murdered.
I can’t do anything about it though so I shouldn’t let it bother me apparently. I’ll just meekly accept people in positions of power telling the most blatant and vile lies to cover up their total disregard for human life. Getting angry over politicians who lie so obviously and so callously and face precisely zero fucking repercussions whatsoever every single fucking time is pointless.

Interesting that those who believe everyone should have guns are now using "he had a gun" as justification for this shooting.

You’d have to think American is a tinderbox waiting to go up at the moment. Can’t imagine it’ll be pretty when it finally blows.

Donald Trump currently "runs" America. Sometimes these people are able to surf the wave of populism and break the norm, change the rules. I don't think these machiavellian forces are controlling Trump, he will fill his pockets and follow his whims. I'd suggest Putin is more influential on him at the moment. Even these powerful people must have a slight twitch at the moment, particularly if he spooks the markets at some point.

Yep, 17 year old Kyle Rittenhouse, not even old enough to legally own a gun under the laws of the state he used it in but cleared of misdemeanour charges because of some strange legal chicanery, is allowed to stroll around the streets during a time of heightened tensions openly wielding an AR-15 style rifle which he then kills 2 people with but Alex Pretti, a man legally entitled to carry the weapon he was carrying, deserves to be shot dead by the government just for legally possessing a firearm he never once made a move towards drawing.
It’s a price worth paying to keep the king of England and registered nurses helping innocent women who have been shoved to the ground by the modern Gestapo out of your face I suppose.

Feels like America is moving ever closer to civil war. This latest shooting tipping things ever closer. Can see things really kicking off as protests mount.

Almost makes you wonder if that wants Trump wants.
Sends his Proud Boys (rebadged as ICE) into certain “difficult” cities to stir up trouble to the point it all kicks off and he can invoke the Insurrection Act and suppress the entire city.
