I read the first one, not as good as the main series but worth it if you're into that kind of thing. Not watched the first episode yet, probably at the weekend.

They're not for everybody but I am someone who generally goes for films which highlight the bleak reality of life. Went to watch The Voice Of Hind Rajab at the cinema last night which is a brilliantly done film based on a real life story set in Gaza. It was pretty difficult viewing at times though. Saw the new 28 Years Later afterwards though which was a bit of light relief and I thought better than the first instalment. It was unnecessarily gory in places though.

Simple stories, small in scope amd scale and should translate well to the screen (I haven’t seen episode one yet).

Like most people I loved GOT (except for the the last few episodes) but I've never had any desire to go back and watch any of the spin offs.

HOTD (ooh eer Mrs...) isn't half as good, watchable but it's nowhere near the quality in terms of acting, writing or production.

HOTD was an interesting project, because the novel was written in the style of a history book from several different historians POV. This gave the showrunners plenty of rope, which they seemingly managed to hang themselves with by falling out with Martin.

Couple of updates. Fallout episode 6, possibly the worst of the season (but still high quality stuff), particular kudos continues to go to set design - meat bags and all.
The BCIs are new to the series (although I suppose there was similar tech used on Deathclaws in FO3) and as with anything unfamiliar I'm finding the development of this aspect of the storyline to be quite slow, mundane even. Don't get me wrong still a great episode, just weaker than the preceding 5. Also now watched ep 1 of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. I really enjoyed it, faithful to the novella, introduces the two main characters. Feels very much like Westeros should too. Great little Easter Egg when they started up the GoT theme only to brilliantly cut it short before it really got going!!

I was really bored with Ep 6, very disappointing after looking forward to it for a week. Enjoying His & Hers. |
