I like Foulkes, and he'd have snaffled the dropped Smith catches, but he'd have made little difference to the result and performance in this Test. I'm fully aware you'll disagree but our issues stem from the attitude and how we go about playing the Test format. It's all wrong. It doesn't matter what combination of players we put in the middle, the style and the reluctance to not throw out wickets away, is always going to be out downfall. Anyway, let's hope we don't lose this Test today. Last time we lost a Test on the same day Baggies played, Albion lost.

Fact is we've been flying by the seat of our pants with an XI that contains at a push six test standard cricketers. We've done well to win as many games as we have with as many holes in our line up as there are.
Just wait until Root goes because then we truly are in the shit.

It must be hard to be so arrogant and so pathetic at the same time.
Both teams getting what they deserve here.

Are we really saying BazBall is the only issue?
Crawley doesn’t have the mental strength to bat property. Duckett has to get bat on every ball, he can’t cope with leaving balls. Pope, well he’s just not good enough. Root, proper. Brooks, is he suddenly going to learn to leave balls? The bowling attack - we’re coming to terms with losing 2 of the greatest bowlers ever. They lack the consistency of the Aussie bowlers. We may have spells of brilliance from them but too often there’s a loose ball every over. We don’t have the mental strength to compete and that’s why they’re better than us. Smith is fucking laughing and shaking his head at our batsmen.

A pitiful capitulation borne from ill preparation, lack of technique, poor form and more than a little arrogance.
Most on here seem to agree ... and those conspicuous by their absence must do too.

Well, there is one positive. That's the last Ashes day I'll watch. Series done and dusted. There's absolutely no chance I'm waking up early hours to watch the forthcoming shitshows in the remaining 3 Tests.

Harsh on Atkinson perhaps but he's got 1 wicket on this tour. |
