Hemsworths, he just ain't right for it.

I watched the first three episodes and thought, I wish this was Chris Hemsworth.

The backlog files: The Witcher 5/10

Caught up on Season 4. I've got no real issue with Hemsworth, he's been handed a poisoned chalice imo, plus the character was like a second skin on Henry Cavill - devout fanboy of the books and videogames.

The showrunner Schmidt Hissrich has butchered the story of the Butcher of Blaviken imo and only the excellent cast (particularly Chalotra and Allen) are holding it together to make the season 5 conclusion worth sticking around for.

The Rats are a good example, they are an incredibly annoying and dislikeable group and bring both the books and series down, but she's even managed to try and sanitise them to push her agenda.

I'd only recommend if you've already committed time to the first 3 seasons.

Watched the first episode of the second series of Landman tonight.   Very good.

The dinner scene was laugh out loud hilarious.  It brought back memories of a former girlfriend who suffered from PMT and turned into a murderous lunatic for 24 hours before the event.

While most months it was best to keep out of her way, I sometimes managed to harness the agggresive manic energy and turn it into something useful.

My finest achievement was to put a wallpaper scraper in her hand and lock her in a bedroom that needed decorating.

Four hours later there was not a scrap of paper left on any surface including the ceiling.

Looking back I was lucky to escape from that relationship with all limbs still intact.

Rattled through the 4 new ST episodes. After a slightly turgid start built up a head of steam and was a superb final episode

Watching Goliath and ended series 3. Series 2 was a bit of a letdown. BBT is immense.

Will start on series 4 over the weekend.

Landman series 2 and The Mayor of Kingstown series 4 are warming up nicely.

@Old Fart - mar missus fuggin loffed her head off at that scene. In her words "Africans dont understand PMT, or most African women are on PMT because their man is useless"....

Also watching:

Mighty Nein, brilliant, very good if you like that sort of thing.
Stranger Things Finale season first 4 episodes. Magnificent TV, truly do not get how the Duffer Brothers haven't done blockbuster films, suppose the answer to that is there is more money in TV. Guess which series is picking up all the accolades and gongs this year.... I'd put Landman to win some categories ST land in.

For some reason Pluribus has gone a bit mental, or the actress is actually mental, anyway will preserve to see where it ends up.

Good news Fallout fans. New series on Paramount starting imminently.

Witcher - not even Lawrence Fishbourne can save that sinking duck.

Been on a bit of a tear last week.

The backlog files 1: Sex Education 5/10

Caught up with the final season this previously excellent show, sadly Season 5 (1/10) disappeared up it'sTQIA+ arse never to return.

The only reason to persist to the end was for the conclusion of the Otis and Maeve storyline with passing interest in the other season one characters Adam (and his dad) and Aimee.

Shite.

The backlog files 2: Daredevil: Born Again 9/10

Arguably the best Marvel spin off series were made by Netflix, particularly Jessica Jones and Daredevil.

Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio reprise their roles as Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk, there are cameos from Netflix OGs Deborah Ann Woll and Jon Bernthal who is back as The Punisher, Frank Castle. Disney+ have kept it dark, kept it gritty,  and the result is excellent. The season ends on a cliffhanger with a further instalment coming Q1 2026.

The backlog files 3: Ironheart 7/10

Ironheart is pretty standard Marvel fare. The narrative follows Riri Williams as the eponymous Ironheart. First introduced in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, she gets her own show detailing how her life develops after the events of the movie (not well). The show is a one off season so I'd expect her to appear in future MCU movies as we move into Phase 6.

Watched the new series of Daddy issues, reasonably amusing and some cracking one liners here and there.
