I’ve no issue with it. As has been pointed out elsewhere, when you have so many below the poverty line the eventual costs (crime, health, social mobility) just end up transferring elsewhere

Looks like Reeves and Starmer have dropped the idea of an income tax rises after opposition from Labour backbenchers over breaking election promises. They will just follow the Tory trick of freezing the bandings so more people are sucked into the higher tax bracket.

E Devon, Seaton: LD gain from C
Caerphilly, Penyrheol: PC hold

S Kesteven, Aveland: RUK gain from C

Oh dear, Keir. Darlington.

This thread makes interesting reading both Labour & Tory Supporters slag off Reform
Lib Dem’s (who I think I would probably vote) the protest vote along with Greens
Who personally I think their leader is probably as dangerous as Nigel as the financial
Markets would crash what the hell has this country come to
My view all Labour have to do
Is stop people just wandering into the country
Build new homes quicker
Sort out our high streets and protect pubs
Make it worthwhile to go to work ( if that means the lazy fuckers get less so be it)
Do a proper reform of the NHS
Make teaching a aspiring profession again
Join up the transport system
That’s a list just off the top of my head
Not difficult is it / or is it?

Living standards have stagnated for nearly 20 years, largely due to awful productivity. That's the most difficult problem to solve.
