Just finished series 1 of Life Begins. Just released to Netflix. Alexander Armstrong, Caroline Quentin. 20 years old series that I missed 1st time round. Quite good and one of the very, very few things me and Mrs.Joad can both watch.
The best thing about it is how simple life seemed to be then. Smoking, drinking, having a laugh at work....!

Have just started Black Rabbit - new to Netflix, with Jude Law and Jason Bateman… a bit of The Bear meets Ozark.

Bateman in the screwed up brother feels poor casting, think he’s trying to broaden but he doesn’t have the stage presence to play the messy character IMO.

Tried the new Mitchell and Webb series. Managed 15 minutes-dreadful in my opinion. Then watched the new Alan Partridge series, first episode, laugh out loud.

I thought the Mitchell and Webb series was ok in places having watched it all on 4OD. However, it was clear when they did the previous BBC sketch show that there was a big downturn in quality with the final series in comparison with the earlier ones. I'd say this new one is of a similar level. There were a few bits which made me laugh but also some stuff which was really poor.

Looking forward to settling down with the new Partridge series this evening.

Monster the Ed Gein Story. Charlie Hunnam is really good but the story veers into some odd side lines (Nazi comic books and Hitchcock for two).

Think that may be because Ed Gein was the inspiration for Psycho.

Yeah I get the Hitchcock bit but the Nazi stuff is like it's trying to be Inglorious Bastards.
