Heggebø

As they said on Albion Analysis, we're not creating enough good quality chances for Heggebo (or whoever else we have up front), he's had several half chances but not much clear cut.

I think Heg will come into his own more so in away games, but he needs runners off him, otherwise his strength of holding it up and linking play will be wasted.

If he can get double figures and the rest of the team score enough between from his link up strength then he’ll he just fine.

For those thinking £4/5m should buy better have lost reality to the current market and value of players (Fellows excluded, obviously).

Indeed… but they are out there… Kone looks a real player for QPR and cost a million or so less than we paid for Heggebø for example.

For what we’ve spent on Heg we could have signed Poku, Kone and probably loaned Lankshear again.

Maybe, but thats a scouting issue. We shouldn’t have any expectation on a £4/5m forward - it’s a gamble signing for what is, in reality, peanuts.

He works hard and effort can't be questioned but I'm not having our system works against him. We have 2 good wingers on both flanks, plenty of crosses come in. Most of them, Price seems to be on the end of them. Maybe Heggebo needs to take up better positions?

They have, or at least that's how I've interpreted the posts questioning the value we've paid for him, and those that are saying it's a poor signing.

I'm all for arguing against Derek and proving him wrong, BTW, but I think he's right on this occasion.

We signed a guy who was at best 1 in 3 in Norway. He's shown promise stepping up a few levels but there will naturally be question marks after games where we didn't look like scoring. He's had chances and hasn't particularly shown what you'd call a strikers instinct. As has been pointed out elsewhere, we could have signed Poku and Kone for what we spent on Heggebo. He needs time to adapt, he isn't crap but there have always been fair concerns about his goalscoring record that are in no way knee jerk.

A couple of goals will change a few minds.

Some won't be happy until he's scored his 30th goal of the season as we clinch the title by February after winning our 20th straight game 3-0. Even then, I bet some would still find something to have a whine about!
