£2 million, not a natural fullback. Giving me Holgate vibes. Trying very hard to trust the process.

Half the fee we got for Furlong, he's 21 and he's played nearly all of his first team football as RB. Holgate is a ridiculously harsh comparison.

Everything I've read from SU and Chelsea fans suggests he's more naturally a RCB albeit a small one. Which is exactly what Holgate is, hence the comparison. He also played CB against us last season.

Well given his age and the fee he's got an opportunity to cement his place as a proper RB. I've had the briefest of look at the stats from last season and whilst he might not be a flying, overlapping WB he can certainly progress the ball up the pitch and appears to do well in his defensive work. Feels a bit of a free hit given the price, if he's any good whatsoever then we can sell him to a promotion rival for way below his market value for PSR reasons.

Not for me - 31 this season, not where we should be investing a fee. Been very good for Pompey and his delivery for their goal at our place was outstanding but think he’s best off where he currently is.

It's a NO from me too.
He was made to look good by a below par showing from our right side of defence. Plus he is the wrong profile. No chance of a resale value due to his age and would want a significant salary.

Not surprised we are in for him as he is available for loan. Thought he was going to rip up the Champ for Boro as Doak did but it never really happened for him.

If we having a DVB on loan he needs to be twice as good as hoped to make up for soiling the shirt
