Holgate is the spacegoat, it seems. I reckon Heggem was a bit wobbly at times today. Furlong was poor defensively in the cup last week and carried that into today's match.

It was interesting to see Styles given the licence to roam. I hope he gets to break out of his emergency full back role, he has more to offer in midfield IMO.

Heggem was our worst player today, got caught out numerous times and missed a free header. He’s a far better player than Holgate, but not today.

Heggo- 7 class act
Furlong-6 lost his man for Stokes opener, lost the ability to throw it long?
Stylo-7 all over the pitch, unlucky to be booked
Holgate-5 simply awful
MJ- 7 flashes of brilliance, flashes of shit, good assist
Mowlatt-6 looks like he’s going need a couple of games to get back you upto speed.
Fellows-8 he bossed the 2nd half, unlucky not to score
Moly-7 all action display, pity he can’t finish!
Diang-6 goal and nutmeg aside he was anonymous
Grant-7 tried hard, can’t fault his application
Wallace-6 poor
Cole-4
Palmer 7 nothing to do and not at fault for goal
Heggo 7 solid enough with some nice balls going forward
Furlong 6 frustrating player. Provides a great outlet from defence but poor defending (fault for goal)
Stylo 8 excellent. Gagging to get a gig in midfield
MJ 7 constant threat down the left. He provides real energy and forward intent. He was however often facing a Stoke brick wall in from of him.
Moly 6 huffed and puffed but end product poor
Mowatt 6 looked off compared to usual self
Diang 6 bits of shit and bits of good. Sublime nutmeg move.
Grant 6 struggled to be the no 9….tried hard
Wallace 4 cooked
Cole not on long enough

We deserved to win 3 v 1 but desperately missed a clinical central forward. A loan fwd thanks Mogga

Holgate was no worse than Heggem yesterday but he's paying the price for being poor since he's been here.

I thought the young lad at the back for Stoke, Roberts I think? He was excellent. Younger, probably cheaper to take on loan than Holgate would have been. The players are there if you bother to look for them.

It was Phillips on loan from Spurs and, agreed, he was very, very good.

I think some of those ratings are harsh. 23 shots to 5 tells its own story. Stoke scored against the run of play and came after some sloppiness in their half which allowed the RB to win the ball and he continued untracked into our penalty area to get the shot in which fell fortuitously to Lowe. Colgate isn't as good as Bartley but he did well enough. Everyone was at least a 6. Grant put in a shift, Mowatt and Molumby kept us ticking (though I doubt they'll have an easier game all season) but Styles was MOTM.
