The issue appears to be that Raphael Wicky was unable to assemble the backroom staff he wanted.

This was not because of any financial concerns from Albion’s end. I understand #WBA were fully behind him and the 2 staff he wanted but it’s not worked out, so the search moves on.

Express and star reporting not Albions fault.
It is understood Wicky outlined a team of three, including himself, to bring to The Hawthorns as the package the Baggies agreed to. But it transpired this morning that his fellow coaches would be unable to make the move.

There were no financial concerns relating to the staff members not joining Wicky.

I'm not sure the club can do anything about it being leaked. It may not have been leaked from our side. It could have been Wicky's team?

I really don't get any of the criticism of the club on this matter.
I see absolutely nothing to be embarrassed, or even remotely annoyed about.

Why do we assume the fuck up is at the club’s end?

Sounds like the guy had the pen in his hand ready to sign, doubt he suddenly went “oh hang on, is it ok if my guys come too?”.

Something has clearly changed over the weekend, but it isn’t necessarily at our end.

Simply we have no idea whatsoever why this has fallen through and the club did not leak it. Highly respected investigative journalists find stuff out as they have contacts and the wherewithal to find stuff that many others don't know. They don't sit around waiting for a call- their work is more like that of a detective. Percy is good at his job.

I'm sure the club would have rathered Percy not known about this. Comparing them to the Lai regime is just plain ignorant.

Rather to any balanced fan, it's simply disappointing as we had hoped the uncertainty was over and many of us had emotionally invested and accepted it was likely to be Wicky.

There's nothing remotely embarrassing as the club had announced nothing.

It's probably set us back a week or so, but that's the way it goes.

Disappointing if he was the club's first choice, but it doesn't sound like it's something that was in our control.

I have some respect for Wicky in that he'd rather not take the job than accept it without all the tools he needs to do the best possible job. As has been said, it sounds like one of his supporting staff either didn't want to come to the UK or wasn't able to get the necessary work permits required.

Hake didn't really excite me, and I think his CV seems far inferior to Wicky... The board need to pull something out of the bag now as Hake will always be seen as "second choice" or underwhelming at best.

I'd rather not have our dirty laundry washed in public, but does it really matter what's leaked, or not? I really don't understand why it's making you so embarrassed. As I said above, it may not have been leaked by anyone involved within Albion. Multiple teams and people are, I assume, working on the search for our next manager, the interviewing process and possible negotiations. In short the information is being shared to a lot of people. Not all are involved with Albion.

Christ knows, but in all probability not someone from the club. It could be an agent related to Wicky a friend of one of the coaches who might come along. Sources are kept tight, but blaming the club is absurd and your reaction childish.
