It was a Democrat strategist who coined the phrase "It's the economy, stupid"
With their debt forgiveness for the already wealthy and the suggestion of a $25,000 bung to first time buyers the Democrats sort of forgot about that whilst inflation ravaged household budgets and savings.

......by kicking out all the mmigrants
Was the full message. The weird thing is, it would appear many immigrants bought into the messaging.
He obviously means the "other" immigrants

He has more in common with Labour than he realises. When does he start raising tax? We know he will borrow more.

I can tell you from first hand experience that there is a strong objection to illegal immigration from many 2nd and 3rd generation immigrant voters in the UK.

It's a nice position to take but I'm not sure it tallies with reality anymore.
We like to believe in goodness and that if you act the right way then good will prevail, but it's increasingly not the case. Trump is a convicted felon, a sex offender, he even incited an insurrection against the democratic process and yet people still voted for him.
Even in this country you have morons who think Farage is the answer, the hard of thinking who take part in race riots and support "Our Tommeh" and think that getting rid of non-white people will solve all the world's problems. Just look at the Tories, even after years of incompetence, entitlement, contempt for normal normal and flagrant corruption people still yearn for them back. I'm no longer convinced this couldn't happen over here.
The only rational conclusion is that we share this planet with a lot of utter cunts.
Trump offered people who've seen their groceries increase by 22% something. Harris campaigned on the fact that Trump = bad. We've seen it here as well. Offer people something, rather than just saying the other side are criminals because when people are struggling to make ends meet they've proven once again that they couldn't give a shit about the moral positions of those in charge.
Not totally true, her policies were far better detailed than anything put out by Trump, Trump always campaigns on sound bites, insulting people, just ranting with no real messages at all. Problem.is, people, and the media seem to want to just have a mud slinging match so that's what's always reported. And Trump gets away with a lot, he's been mostly incoherent last few weeks, but mentions of dementia, compared to Biden for example.
Trump would have had the exact same inflation had he won in 2020, it takes almost no reading to work that out, this is what I mean by frustration, people just don't seem to actually use the brains that have.
Trump hasn't offered anything, he did nothing on the border, in fact, he opposed the bill agreed by all parts of the senate to fix it because he wanted to use the border in his election campaign. He tells people, in clear language, he just talks nonsense knowing people lap it up, and people do. I don't understand it.
The supposed patriots in the US, now love Russia, and Putin, literally their mortal enemy only a few years ago, and don't see it's just been because of ridiculous propaganda. It just frustrates me so much.
MAGA has destroyed so much of America, where they had civilised discourse between opposing sides, where there was a grown up, responsible democracy, is now hatred and grown adults shouting moronic phrases at each other. Intelligence is now disliked, the stupidest get the loudest voice.
It's not so much I hate Trump, I can't stand him, hates a very strong term, but I do hate what he represents and what he has caused and built.
But did she actually communicate the content of those policies?
No.
All that cut through was Orange Man Bad and that's not going to do much, when people have already been through a Trump presidency and plenty clearly didn't think it was that bad in terms of their day-to-day lives. How things look to us, clearly isn't the daily lived experience of many Americans and not just white Americans either.
I'm seeing far too much finger-pointing at the American electorate here and elsewhere and far too little acknowledgement that the Democrats ran a truly appalling campaign. From letting a man with significant neurological decline stand to not holding a primary, meaning that a perennially unpopular politician led an utterly tin-eared campaign.
You cannot shame and insult people into voting for you. As for people acting shocked when people vote based on what they feel suits their pockets, it's rarely been different.
No I will point fingers.
I'm done with idiots running the asylum.
The campaign wasn't good, and Biden takes massive blame for standing for a second term, he promised to stand down after one, didn't, and that helped cause the cluster fuck. But she did communicate policies, the media never reported on that bit, they just wanted the bit where she spoke about Trump, media turned the entire election into being about Trump, because it gets clicks. Policies take time to read and digest, and people don't want that anymore, they want easy, quick, nothing that ever challenges their mind, opinions or beliefs in any way.
I'm done being nice to them, trying to understand them, it doesn't work either, and they still get to be hateful, small minded and ignorant, so maybe it is time to start being the same back at them. I have friends in the US, a lot in fact, some old school Republicans that detest MAGA, A MAGA fan who quite frankly is the stupidest, most gullible cunt I've ever met, a few trans folk, somehow our gaming clan became a bit of a safe haven for trans people, no idea why, we didn't do anything special for it.
Oh no, their world has changed, and they're scared and worried, well boo fucking hoo, the world changes, nothing stays the same, grow up and deal with it. Children deal with change better than these supposed grown adults. I'm just tired of excuses to basically say they just want to see white straight people with women knowing their place blah blah blah and disabled nicely locked away from sight.
And if I sound bitter, and angry and oh no, hate doesn't beat hate bullshit, well nice doesn't work on these mono syllabic cunts so may as well enjoy insulting them.
Done with being nice and fair

So elections can be won, no matter what an odious individual you are, on the basis of talking solely about immigration and the economy.
Nigel knows this.
As an aside I heard Trump say over the weekend "we don't need to live like this" WE? WTF? He is a billionaire, how is he living a terrible existence?

You're overanalysing it Birdy.
Just like here Americans feel no better off than they did 4 years ago. Just like here Americans demand an end to illegal immigration. Neither of these positions are extreme.
A majority of the American electorate don't believe that Harris will fare any better than Biden in dealing with either issue. The logical action is to vote for someone who *might*.
I met plenty of independent women who were voting for Trump. I met immigrant cab drivers in Atlanta that were voting for Trump.

Self protectionism ain't it. Haul up the drawbridge.
Can't comment really. I am an immigrant but my family were probably Nordic immigrants that came in on big boats and carried big axes. But I kinda get it.

I may be, because there's no evidence to support he might, and there's enough evidence for the shit he wants to do, that he's said he wants to do.
The US go on about their constitution, he's said he wants to suspend it to let him do what he wants, they're fine with it. He wants to remove rights of women, they support it. All for some vague sound bites and no evidence of anything?
It's like the support Farage gets over here it's just something I cannot get my head around at all.
