A loan to League One would be good for Faal. I really hope we don’t sell him permanently.

I think I read that Will Keane is on £2k week at pne. That just shows at what s stupid level we have been paying players.

Even our highest earners should only have been on £5k to £10k at a push.

They doesn’t make sense as we were having to pay Premier League wages while we were there, and those halved on relegation.  We’d never have managed to sign anybody if we were paying less than we were in the PL.

I am on about the excessive wages paid many like Reach, Wallace, Swift when we came down.

Unlike many other relegated teams we hardly made anything from player sales so we shouldn't have been paying those wages, and now we paying the price and are fortunate to stay competitive because of King Carlos.

Did I see us linked with Lyndon Dykes? Just what we need to offer a different threat to what we have.

The Will Keane rumours still going, a couple of Preston sites reporting a 500k bid from us.

Goal output wise it'll be like getting another BTA, but with no resale.

We needed the near £2m profit from these 2 moves if they happen.

But, I'm do wonder why we needed Cole too.

CC has talked a lot about trying to replace certain players and roles in the squad from last season. In terms of strikers he has spoken about having 3 (BTA, Maja and Weimann) and I see Cole as essentially the replacement for the latter. All being well he won’t be expected to feature much, but if we have injuries then we have a reasonably senior and experienced player we can turn to as the 3rd choice.

With the resources we have, I’d be really disappointed if we were to pay £500k for Keane. I absolutely get the need for some experience, his goal record has been very good in the last couple seasons, and he’s another player who can drop deep and link, but it’s dead money. Anyone we spend on has to have the potential to return a profit.

Me too. We have Cole who has some experience and a decent goal scoring record of late.

As you say we need either an out and out beast of a target man, or somebody to carry the ball and try and create goal scoring opportunities for himself.

We have the lowest number of take ons as shots creating actions in the league. Which shows our forward/midfield players do not produce enough opportunities for themselves.
