The rapid conclusion would be for Russia to get everything that it wants to placate his mate Putin.

Trump will also decimate the world response to the climate crisis, which would give everyone (apart from deniers like him) another thing to worry about because action not taken now will see us fail to control warming.

It’s been a great week for Trump. Have to hope that the impetus changes before the election.
Only there though can a 20 year old lad get hold of a gun that can blow someone’s head off at 100 plus yards and multi millions think that’s ok.

Not necessarily 'ok', more like if everyone there had high-powered rifles the guy wouldn't have turned up in the first place. Thats their way of thinking.

I'm just surprised none of the Trump followers who spotted the shooter on the roof and tried to alert the authorities weren't armed and therefore able to kill him for themselves. As trophy hunting goes that would have been one for the wall.

I also think it would be a grave mistake to regard Biden and Trump victories in the election as analogous. Terrible things will happen if Trump wins which absolutely won't happen if Biden wins and I think people shouldn't lose sight of this.

No analogy being drawn between Trump / Biden election wins. The point being that if Trump loses in November he and his supporters will in no way accept the result (he has form for this!) and I would foresee widespread public disorder that would make the events of Jan 6 pale into insignificance - hence chaos. Furthermore Trump can't accept defeat for purely legal reasons as his run at the presidency is basically an attempt to avoid facing up to possible convictions and jail time.
