Wot I am watching now
Currently watching "Sugar" on Apple.  An up to date detective type series  set in Hollywood and paying homage to 1950s black and white film noir era.  Interspersed with clips from Humphrey Bogart detective films depicting what is going on in Sugar's mind which is part of his mysterious  but so far unexplained background.

it's got great style but not sure about the content yet.

He is a PI who tracks down missing people and is engaged by a Hollywood icon to track down his missing granddaughter.  There are all sorts of plots and
subplots showing the worst side of Hollywood fame and his mysterious past. Sugar seems to be some sort of special agent who was part of a government mind bending
experiment which has not gone well.

The opening titles are beautiful ( in my opinion) pure art deco and Ed Hopper style illustrations.  There was an Ed Hopper posting on here once.  Not heard of him for years.
A special mention to Wiley the dog who is a great actor and may well win Best Supporting Actor at the Oscars.

Can't say I would recommend it as a "must see".  But it is interesting and a bit different.

Absolutely brilliant, a very good way of broaching a subject that will often go undiscovered or not discussed, and I just thought it was a great way to show affects on people's mental health. It's a tough watch, and at the beginning difficult to get an understanding where it's going, but at the end, the message and story makes a compelling comment and statement.

It is compelling, from the point it took a different direction I just watched with my mouth agape.

Brilliant watch, but for one who is not easily offended I really struggled with the TV exec, found him so offensive  from the off.  Plus, surely he could've afforded a tube of ky jelly rather than the "Brokeback Mountain" gob on the hand when he anally violated the drugged up protagonist?

Can also heartily recommend avoiding Passenger on ITV.  The Mrs got me into it on episode 2 and it seemed promising, fucking abysmal ending, even worse than Leicester's late winner at our place earlier in the season!!

I stayed with Baby Reindeer for 30 minutes before wanting to bang all their heads together. Glad I gave up now after reading what happened later.

Two episodes in to the new Ripley adaptation starring Andrew Scott and very much enjoying it.

Started, and really enjoying The Responder, not sure how we missed it first time around. Freeman is excellent, his Scouse accent whilst good doesn't half feel odd!

Anyone watched the Piers Morgan Interview with the Baby Reindeer stalker on YouTube?

Very interesting - the casting and acting was spot on, to the point where it looks like it will get Netflix into court.

For a programme that claimed to be a 'true story' in its opening credits there appears to be some significant untruths in the programme, well evidenced ones.

I don't doubt, having watched it, she has done at least some of the things in the programme- but she also hasn't done everything she has been portrayed to do.

Netflix may end up regretting not casting a blonde English woman in the role as the resemblance was uncanny at times.

Then it opens up questions regarding a moral duty to protect people who are evidently severely mentally unwell. And this applies to Gadd, Netflix and Morgan.

This all sounds quite depressing but it was an enjoyable 50 minutes of TV, perplexing, given that Piers Morgan is a fucking cunt.
