What happened to the exclusivity that Patel supposedly had? Does this mean there wasn’t an exclusivity agreement or that Lai or Patel have pulled out? The article raises more questions than it’s answered.

Erm….why on earth would you commit £110m to buy a 9.5% minority stake? That would value the club at over a billion pounds.  It isn’t worth more than £30m for an 88% stake.

I bow to your knowledge on this stuff Prag but from my reading of the article it's a £5m stake for 9.5%. The rest just seems to be showing the money is available to run the club.

It depends which way you look at it.  If there’s not much chance of getting the extra money back then it’s the same as sinking it into their share cost.

The really stupid thing is that it would leave them as “partners” of Lai. What sane businessman would do that?  A fellow shyster?

Certainly makes you feel the Patel deal has stalled at least , worrying....

Well Farnell himself seems to be dodgy and maybe the fake tan fumes have done something to the brain of our Villa-supporting friend who has already lent Mr Lai money that any sane person would know was never being paid back.

I just wish someone could come out and say something official, it’s all the crazy rumours that makes it unsettling.
But since December it’s been mighty quiet until tonight.
