Couldn’t make it up

That’s life. It’s normal enough.
Got O’Shea for nothing and sold £8m.
It works both ways.
However, in your defence, the acquisitions of him and Grant is appalling business and endemic of mishandling of the club.

There are a few short memories and Captain Hindsights in operation here regarding Grady. When he signed the transfer was widely lauded amongst our fanbase, we all thought we have pulled off a bit of a coup in getting him in (remember how furious the West Ham fans were?) as we were signing a player we all thought would be a future star.

With the benefit if hindsight it hasn't worked out that way, it was the wrong move for both player and club. But at the time I can understand why we did it. a

The value of footballers can go down as well as up.

For once to be fair to them this can happen and 99% of our fans would have bought him after that season trial.

At the time he was linked with the Seals, imagine the meltdown if they had signed him over us.

Indeed, everyone was happy to sign him, though there were concerns about spending so much on him.

No one expected it to go this wrong.

I was delighted we'd signed a future Star!
Him, Pereira and CR7 looked to be the bee's knees under Slaven. At the time I had great hope for our future.
I was probably wrong with hindsight, though the club could have handled it way better.

The expectation was that three years later we’d be selling him for £45m, not £4.5m.

I can still see the flick over the head and burn down the wing moment!!! In that six months he was Harvey Barnes good, and scored goals to boot. His demise is actually really sad and suggests a fragility in mind and body. Surely a move is best for all concerned. Given recent form and injuries I'd say £4-6 million is very good deal for us.

Now this is a player I would sell tomorrow. He’s so fugging lightweight. He has offered next to nothing since he signed.

Many don’t know that Bilic was fuming when that dickhead Dowling blew 18m on him. Bilic wanted Eze who went for not much more

Fair to say, as fans we have given him every chance. At the reported £4.5M it represents a better sale value than Dara or the Palmer bid. If nothing else, at least we can't have any claim of missing him.
