Ian Ward on Sky has just outlined exactly my point about the bails being out...

He also said it took 50 minutes to come to a conclusion. So any gain made in time by bazball will be taken up by a review. You can't have your cake and consume it they say.

He said it took 50 minutes, one of my friends said exactly the same within minutes, whilst the review was still ongoing.

Magnificent. He should apply to umpire .. and we can do away with reviews when he is officiating.

Josh has a point tbf. Attacking Test cricket is great but the oval is all about a decent score first dig and then the pitch gets harder to bat on by the day. There’s a fine line between attacking and just tossing top 7 wickets away

It was legit to pick him for Edgbaston because of his recent record, but after that no show we should have picked a team to win. Cronyism and sentiment doesn't win Test series.

Broad always turns it on for the Ashes. Woakes had the best figures. Wood scared the pants off them. Robinson, Tongue and Potts can all watch and wonder "When do I get a chance?"

Unless they aren't fit, I'd be really surprised if they weren't in the squad. Broad is undeniably our leading seam bowler on present form, never mind history. But the continued selection of Jimmy is perplexing.

He'll probably take five in the second innings.
