It's The Ashes (again)

Robinson publicly announced he was suffering back spasms in the previous game. His fitness has improved dramatically in the last 18 months so there's no need to overdo it.

Jimmy may well go on to have an amazing Test he's certainly capable, but selecting a player purely on sentiment doesn't sit right with me. I don't think we can argue that's the reason he's being selected, can we?

Tbf, I'm not too fussed about Robinson missing out. I'd have selected Tongue who I've been impressed with this summer.

Right call for me

Robinson's speeds have been down all series, he's definitely not 100% despite what he's saying now

Jimmy all day for me

On the basis of form shouldn't be anywhere in a 13.
Home ground and sentiment rules however. Tongue must feel hugely disappointed.

Form, what 2 matches?

Pitches as flat as a witches tit?

Nonsense, nowhere near a 13? Please, Tongue has played 2-3 tests and done well but if the ball does swing he's the best in the world by a distance

This is my thoughts. You don't leave a bowler out who has near enough 700 Test wickets.

What's gone in the past is irrelevant. All that matters is now. And the current Jimmy hasn't been affective at all this series. Is that enough to write him off? No, of course not. But to include someone on the basis of past glory is incorrect.

Does the Anderson we have seen in the two Tests he's played give us a better chance of winning than selecting Tongue? I'm not so sure. If it's overcast and bowler friendly conditions it's an overwhelming yes. If we're getting another flat pitch then it's a no.

Never heard of form is temporary, class is permanent? Jimmy has vast years of experience to draw upon, and he is our best bowler when on form. He wasn't quite right in the first two Tests, let's hope he is this time.

Tongue was great, but he's played two Tests, one of which was against Ireland. What's not to say the Aussies would have better tactics against him, and start battering him to all corners?

Ultimately we won at Headingley without Robinson or Anderson, I don't see this is a major issue.

More pissed off that we still refuse to call up a proper wicketkeeper. Even the 19 year old lad a Somerset would be a better option than Bairstow behind the stumps.

As I said they've nailed their colours to the Bairstow mast for this series, they're not going to climb down now

I think the XI picked is as good as we can be right now given the mounting injuries we're suffering

I correct my very few mistakes. Unlike the multitude some rack up on here.
