It's The Ashes (again)
I see Robinson reverted to being a knob again.

I have no issue with Robinson’s behaviour yesterday.  Tensions run high. It’s the Ashes, not a gentle friendly.  He’ll get it in spades when he bats and that’s fair enough.  Have to be able to take it if you give it out.

Far worse has been said in Ashes series over the past 150 years!

Which is why the Aussie media's reaction is fucking hilarious. Honestly, you'd think he'd killed someone the way they're reacting.

They forget their past.

What did OR say or do? I only saw him call a batter a prick?

No real problem with this.

But it seems a bit pathetic, Khawaja had just scored 140 against you, and the basis of sledging is to unsettle not out batsmen, not ones walking back to the pavilion.
Hardly a memorable line either.

I see the Australians have got their knickers in a twist over something benign again and are hurling rocks within their glass house.

I think the difference in the quality of spin bowlers could be decisive however. Love the Hollies Stands song to Lyon, but think we'd win the Ashes with Gary in our side.

As good as Bairstow is, he should be in as a batsman, with Foulkes as the wicket keeper. The missed stumping probably cost us a significant first innings lead.

I know the gung-ho approach will draw criticism if we lose this test, but I love the positivity after watching us try and not pose matches for most my life.

Who’s “Gary”?

Nathan Lyons, can't quite remember why but his nickname is Gary

He looks like a famous Aussie (comedian, I believe?).

Gary Baldy (Garibaldi), isn’t it?

So we can’t do back to the Aussies what they do to us. Grow up. Nowt wrong and nothing to see.

I really hope rain doesn't ruin what has been a fantastic Test, but sadly the forecast is not looking good. The irony is that I believe a draw is probably the fairest result. England have been superb at times, ditto Australia. England have been frustrating and 'poor' (I don't want to use poor as credit has to go to the opposition for making the other team look 'poor'.) at times, ditto Australia. It's ebbed and flowed to give us great theatre.

I obviously want England to win, but if it's going to be a draw then I want to see Australia battle and earn the draw, rather than be a washout. This Test deserves a better ending than that (I can only see a draw or England win, barring a collapse from us!), but knowing Stokes you can see a ballsy declaration that risks defeat in order to give him a chance of a win, so maybe, weather dependant. the draw is out of the question.

That's an absolutely needless shot from Root. Ridiculous.

At least Pope got an absolute jaffa and couldn't do a lot against such a good ball. Root has just gifted his wicket away, when we needed him to be the core of our innings. This is where this mentality of gung ho really annoys me. It's brain dead cricket at times, I get that you need quick runs to get to a defendable total so you have time to bowl Australia out before rain ruins it, but you can score quick runs with sensible shots.
