It was foolish and he made some remarks during the referendum campaign which were inflammatory and if the EU leaders like him had not been so arrogant and complacent the vote would not have been Yes IMHO.  So I wouldn't let him off the hook - he is partly responsible for the mess.

Arf you think many of those who voted leave even know who he is?

I've no idea - I know who he is and that he has put his foot in his mouth often - and just as Rees Mogg or anyone else making crass comments is rightly called out so should Tusk etc.  Amazed at the excuses being made or the suggestion that leave voters wouldn't know people and remain voters would. Rather stupid arrogance - part of the reason people voted to leave.

To be fair, I doubt most people know who he is remain or leave. One of the biggest problems in the country is barely anyone (including elected MPs) know how the EU is structured or controlled.

And the people that voted leave to show up remain voters taking the piss out of them are idiots.
