Next Concert Thread
just getting back to the Eagles concert,  we met up with extremely wealthy  friends who had paid £400 each to get a second row seat in the middle of the stage.  The seats turned out to be basic plastic fold up contraptions held together with plastic ties, and anyone heavier than 11 stone could not get their arse on them without encroaching onto the adjacent seat.

Being at pitch level also meant that the toilets were portaloos.  While she was sitting having a pee,  a gang of lads decided it would be a good idea to rock the portaloo back and forth for a laugh.

Just proves that money doesn't get you a comfortable seat in more ways than one.

No jokes about pissing yourself laughing please.

Anyone going to see Greta Van Fleet.  Shut your eyes and it's Robert Plant singing.

A busy few days coming up.

Today and tomorrow is Ed Sheeran at Wembley Stadium. Friday is Guns N Roses at Tottenham Stadium and next Monday is Elton John at Watford. Throw in a night of Boxing at Wembley Arena on Saturday and as I say; busy.

Let me know how you get on at the GNR gig on Friday, I'm going to the Saturday one.

I went to the GNR concert in Lisbon a few weeks ago. His voice isn’t what it was, but the concert was awesome and they played for 3 hours

Bought tickets for this Saturday’s GnR gig something daft like three years ago. Sold them a while ago as I’m pretty sure Lady D would castrate me if I tried to fuck off to another gig this weekend.

Just in from this. They had some sound issues (Estranged was interrupted for technical difficulties) and they were late going for 'doors' due to problems during the soundcheck. I don't know if Spurs Stadium is right for gigs - It was the first ever show there. It will be interesting to see if they're sorted for tomorrow night's show and how Lady Gaga gets on at the end of July. It sounded OK on the floor, but people on the upper levels were complaining, saying all they could hear was the drums. Somebody left early and said the sound was better outside the stadium on the South podium than inside the bowl. There were reports that Axl was ill prior to the show, but he sounded good from what I saw and heard.

Cracking set list, too.

Saw Steve Forbett at The Kitchen Garden, Thursday. Full house but that's only 70-80 people. Great, if quirky venue, and local (Stirchley) ales. When this guy put his first album out he was touted as a new Dylan/Springsteen/John Prine. For some reason no one picked up on him and now aged 67 he is touring tiny venues with just a (really good) lead guitarist and him on acoustic. I'm surprised none of these X Factor types haven't covered his stuff even if they don't care for the guy himself, there are some gems there.  A real muso, check him out on Spotify/whatever.

The sound wasn't really sorted. It was almost like Axl's mic was plugged into a guitar amp with reverb and delay on. I don't think the bowl shape of Tottenhams ground suits concert, the sound just echos round. They were also 1.5 hours late on stage and unlike Friday there was no delay to the support acts. Compared to other concerts on the tour they cut 7 songs and played for less than 2 hours. Slash was great but I can't say I'd pay to see Axl again.

Two nights of Lady Gaga at Tottenham Stadium tonight and tomorrow.

It'll be interesting to see if she has the same sound problems that Guns N Roses did a few weeks ago.
