I've just got back to the hotel after watching the Eagles at Anfield.

I am not an Eagles fan, easy listening music for middle aged fat women,  most of whom were waddling in the aisles.

They turned up, played their set, some of which I did not recognise, made little attempt to engage with the audience, and did the job.

I was in the Main Stand so a fair way from the stage and the sound simply did not reach.   No doubt down at pitch level it was better, but it's a five out of ten for me.

As usual the crowd control stewards were total wankers but smarty dressed in LFC suits.  But still complete twats.

The four lads on the stage in the Cavern on Saturday night knocking out Beatles numbers were better value for money.

Also did the Beatles Story museum.  Well worth a visit to understand the serendipity of certain people being in the right place at the right time to change music history.

Tenth and final night of Queen & Adam Lambert at The O2 tonight. This will be my eighth show of the run.
Then a couple of days off before The Hella Mega Fest Tour (Green Day/Fall Out Boy and Weezer) at London Stadium on Friday, 21 Pilots on Saturday and an Indian singer called Jubin Natayal on Sunday.

In what way were they wankers? Just curious as I've had issues with Liverpool stewards before.

the amount of assistance around the ground with people in hi viz was brilliant.  Nothing was too much trouble. Inside the staff were great in getting us to the Chemistry Lounge and the catering and bar staff were brilliant.  I took my seat and soon found that I was not going to be able to sit for long.  I have a knee problem at the moment and being six foot two, there was no chance that I could stretch my leg out despite being on a diet of paracetamol.  So I went back to the top of the stand where there was a concourse about four yards front to back and about eight yards wide.  There are also two seats with massive gaps alongside for people in wheelchairs and their helpers.  I asked if I could stand at the back of this area i.e. not blocking the pathway in case of emergencies. The lady there was very apologetic but said I couldn't. I either had to return to my seat or to the lounge.  This is despite there being 32 sq yards of empty space and two unused disabled chairs.  As a compromise she allowed us to stand in the doorway of the lounge and she held the door open so we could hear the music.

This arrangement was working well until the head honcho arrived in a blaze of false tan and shining teeth.  Boy did he like himself.  Six foot three, manicured hair, skin the colour of a recently creosoted fence panel and in his shiny LFC suit.  He read the riot act and insisted the door be closed.  I've learned to never argue with idiots so shrugged my shoulders watched from inside the lounge.

Meanwhile wonder bollocks shows his true intent by heading directly for a very attractive dark hair girl from the hospitality department, who he obviously has the hots for, and start barking out orders to underlings about stand there, tell him to sit down, get him out of the isle, etc etc thus pissing everyone off who previously were having a good time. Several other older  people attempted to stand in this area and every time he had it cleared while always making sure that he had the attention of the young lady just to show how powerful he was.

This all went to pot when the entire bar staff decided to watch the last half hour of the concert from the disabled area.  To avoid having to deal with this infringement of his authority,   he decided a less populated doorway further along the stand required his and the young lady's attention, so he relocated there to continue his attempt to get into the young lady's knickers.

I appreciate the job has to be done, the fire risks, and maybe I should have not gone given I was not fully fit.  But there is a way to deal with the public and subordinates,  and not being a cunt is a good start.

That last line sums it up perfectly. The job has to be done, but using the position to try and pick up women? He wouldn't last 5 minutes at any of the venues I work at. One of the security staff was the same at Wembley Arena last night for a K-pop concert and was acting similar. Very abrupt with public and staff alike. I know for a fact he was reported to the ops managers 4 times, so I can't see him lasting much longer at that venue.

I've got tickets for Noel (not Stanley Victor) up the Chase on Sunday. I've not seen him before so really looking forward to it.

This was a good gig.  Don't Look Back In Anger was particularly brilliant. We were at the back with all the picnics and folding chairs while Master Vertical was down the front with all the bucket hats. All good until I had to stop the car on the way home for him to throw up.

Frankie Valli on Sunday. Geezer's 89 so not sure what his voice is like these days but his discography is pretty impressive.

Anyone seen him in his latter years?
