It smacks of being seen to do something no matter how pointless it is. Boris banging on about testing for incoming passengers on the day we announce the variant is already in the country says it all.

Telling people to get boosters whilst scaremongering that the new variant can escape the vaccines. The whole press conference was a booster sales pitch. Boris couldn't even answer the question about masks but stated that 'Saj' will advise further. Utterly clueless.

It's all about the optics. It's all about being seen to be doing "something".

I'm double vaxxed awaiting a booster. I've also had Covid. I'm a living breathing antibody machine.

Yet apparently it's safe for me to sit at the Albion with thousands of others in the Brummie, but not safe to travel on the train there. It's as ludicrous as the earlier rule that if you're standing up in a pub you need a marsk, but sitting down you don't. Let's not even consider that the highest rates of infection in the UK are in marsked Wales, and infections across marsked Europe are increasing exponentially.

Vaccinations are the exit from Covid. Not marsks.

Masks cut risk of infection by 53%, just bloody wear one Jesus Christ. Childish mentality

Waaahhh I will not wear one, I don’t want, no one is gonna make me! I shan’t it’s not fair, you don’t understand! Waaaah!

That said the idea that the new virus is only active on public transport and shops is surprising!

Let's be honest, we're nearly 2 years into a pandemic and if you still need someone to tell you when you need to wear a mask then there ain't much hope for you ffs.

That is a bit of a jump to suggest I think that. You may as well label me as a tin foil hat wearer.

If marsks are the exit from Covid (they're not) then at least adopt the marsk wearing policy universally. Or is my local newsagent or the empty midday train somehow more dangerous than the pub on a Friday night?

It's just optics. That's all it is.

Hadn’t realised Piers Corbyn was a right winger. Or that Noel Gallagher held ultra-right wing views. How come there is a group a group called ‘Left lockdown Sceptics’ (in reality, the Jeremy Corby supporting, Toby Young) who keep writing open letters against Covid measures.

Just what is it that makes you come out with these ridiculous sweeping generalisations? Oh, of course, blind and rabid prejudice.

It’s one of a number of tools to make a “significant Impact” What is the harm to the majority?

How about you use some personal responsibility?

No one has said they're the exit from Covid but common sense tells you the harmless practice of wearing one wherever possible cuts down transmission. Nurses dealing with Covid sufferers wear them combined with vaccinations and the majority remain Covid free. It's pretty simple to understand really.

Even down to the use of ‘marsk’ in his posts show how childish he has become on the whole subject.

Of course we should have more measures in place where they are mandated in more places, but to do that would restrict the businesses themselves and possibly put them out of business. Whilst they evaluate this new strain take some responsibility and just wear the marsk as you call it.

Masks are one small piece of the jigsaw to help us out of this mess.

I refer you to my previous comment.

It’s a weird ideological problem the Left-tits have; ignoring facts. Take notice of and acknowledge other less sensationalist outlets.
