Anyone had a good go on the GTA remasters yet? Seeing it get some dodgy reviews, wondering if it's worth shelling out for.

Played a bit of Vice City, seems fine to me.

Soundtrack is still fucking brilliant.

What's the dodgy reviews saying, I've tried to go in order so put a few hours into Liberty City last night, GTA 3

Controls are a bit fiddly which make some of the missions bloody difficult, aiming system for shooting isn't great, plays OK though, parts of the city look good

Sound is also strangely quiet on the PS5

0.5 score on metacritic. It seems to be a lazy remaster from what I've seen.

It's about time they did a TimeSplitters remaster.

I think it is reasonable to call it a lazy remaster.

That bring said, I'm enjoying revisiting San Andreas (free on GP), the controls are improved, superior loading times and improved graphics. I quite like that the graphics look old school, as opposed to being built from the ground up (like the Crash and Spyro remakes).

However, I certainly wouldn't recommend paying £50 for the full version with all three games. I'm going to wait for the price to significantly drop.

£25 would've been a fairer price. Rockstar are clearly after a quick money maker, with this.

I'm personally fed up with all these re-makes / re-masters or whatever they are. Then again I buy a new console for new games and don't get the clamour for backwards compatibility either. I may check it out on PS Now, just because I can, but doubt I'll play it for long.

Tesco have got some decent offers on games at the moment. Popped into my local on the way to work this morning and they had the recent Ratchet and Clank for PS5 for 25 quid. Want too fussed but I’ll give it a play at that price.

Also saw Spider-Man Miles Morales for £15 and Far Cry 6 for £35.

The new Halo is getting good reviews, never been a massive fan of them in the past but looking forward to giving this a go on Wednesday.

Finished far cry 3 last week, enjoyed it. First island was great, second island got a bit samey... Started rise of the tomb raider as it was free on prime. Am actually playing a lot more PC games currently, but hoping for FF7 remake and LOU2 for xmas so hoping that will push me to finish Uncharted 4 (all on PS4). Then consider a PS5 purchase next year.
