Positives.....there must be something

Positive for me was Zaha & Benteke, who we have always struggled against, were very well shackled.

Never looked in any bother, apart from one absolute brain fart (again), which ultimately cost us the game.

This.

The complex equation has been partially solved meaning that we no longer concede goals for fun and look more competitive but, as ever, we are left in desperate need of a goalscorer to win us tight games and that's where we've failed time after time and where the investment is needed and isn't forthcoming.

The great philosopher Steve Bruce once said that a football team is only as good as it's strikers and that's about right for us. Much as I like Diagne I wonder if I like him because he's actually any good or rather that he's not good enough but vastly superior to ehat we had before he arrived.

I am confident we will be more than competitive next season if we keep those we need to keep and get rid of the dead wood.
I'd keep Sam but I fear he won't stay.

There are probably number of managers who could get us up but now many of them would want to be in the Prem with our lack of ambition and budget? Just for the sake of managing at that level- fine! But some would want more and Sam would be in that braxkrt I reckon.

We didn't get smashed 1-5 like the last time we met.

Quite a bit of the dead wood will still be contracted til 2022.

One more game down until this sorry season is over. That’s the biggest positive!
