Is not what those of us who have to wait for next week will be saying, that's for sure!

Yeah I’m looking forward to putting the two (and the Switch) next to each other.

Got a few games downloading from GP at the moment - Gears 5 & Tactics, Madden 20, Halo and a few indies. Think I’m already going to be bumping up against my storage limit.

yeah the S only has 367GB isn't it? External HD all the way methinks, or be flash and get an external SATA SSD.

Fuck me I'm confused.

I thought the new XBox was called Scatlett? Now there's and XBox S??

What are the chances of me getting one for Christmas?  Not for me, my lad.

There are two new X Box family machines, called the Series S and the Series X - yes the naming convention makes bugger all sense. Think of them as the series small and the series extra large, might help! Project Scarlet was one of the 'secret' development names.

There's also the Playstation 5.

Chances of getting any, other than the S will be slim to none, although they did originally say there would be stock. However, certainly in Sony's case they are aiming to make 7.5million machines by December, which is as many as they sold in 3 months when PS4 launched...BUT there are likely to be none available on the day, and the chances of two or more together are incredibly remote, even if they build a new tier just for them.

The Series S/X is likely to be in a similar boat, although you'll have an extra week to get hold of one of them as they're out today. PS5 is next week on the 19th, my birthday!

The Series S is more of a replacement for the current X Boxes, but it has a few bells and whistles added, the Series X is the big boy machine.

Thank you.

So I have no chance of getting a Series X then.

Never say never, just have to be quick and keep your eyes peeled for places selling them. MS don't tend to shout about their manufacturing figures or sales figures after they got bummed last gen, so not sure how their stock levels will be.
