Bournemouth were / are paying ASTRONOMICAL wages to some of their players... Believe Wilson and King were both on north of 100k last season.

Even if King has had a substantial wage drop following relegation we're going to struggle to match them.

I'd rather we put the money towards a longer term view, but given that option has slammed shut in our fact, I'd sooner King for a season on 50-60k than bloody Deeney or Gray!

Paying 5m for Josh King for a season is both affordable and gives us a much better chance of staying up. We'll easily recoup that in excess if we were to sell Pereira in the future, same with Diangana. Staying up is worth a hell of a lot of money. It's easily a risk worth taking.

Arguably King>Wilson, and so far Wilson has scored with every shot he's had for Newcastle and could well be the difference between them staying up and going down.. Astronomical wages or not we should be all over that.

At 28 I’m not sure I’d want us throwing £10m at him if there’s an offer to pay £1-2m loan fee with an obligation...

If we could get King on loan, Osei-Samuel for 3m and draft in Femenia cheaply Id feel a lot more confident.

One of two things for me we will have looked at and probably asked about King he may not want to come or we think there is no resale value. Where as if it is Grant six years younger with a resale value and he wants to come. I really don’t mind either, but I still think it will be Grant.

Grant ticks every box, and is clearly a player we know a lot about as we’ve been after him for ages, but it really feels like we’ve pissed about too long.

Agree. But Clyne's gone to Palace.

I guess Peltier is worth a try. Experienced, and Bilic presumably sees something there.
Hegazi is still here and must be brought in. I see him as an improvement. I've no idea about Ivanovic, but see Peltier above.
Grant... well, Huddersfield are playing hard ball, understandably. But look at it the other way. They need players too. They need our money. And before deadline day.
Add Gallagher, and that's half a new team.

I can’t see anywhere that Clyne has signed for Palace yet.  He’s been training with them but hasn’t signed  as far as I can see

Loan to buy for King, few million + Harper on loan for Woodrow, 3m for Osei-Samuel and throw a million or so bid at Fermenia from Watford who has been a solid RB for them for a few years in the PL.

Fermenia is a very good shout, and good thinking re cash plus Harper (loan) for Woodrow.

Don’t know if we pissed about or we got pissed on if it’s right that Huddersfield upped the price after an initial price was agreed, { Because the vile paid over the odds for Watkins } if so we have every right to hold fire. I still expect this deal to go through with a compromise on price. Instalments or big loan I don’t know. Luckily there is no match before the last deadline. But we do need whoever comes through the door to be here soon for fitness purposes.
