Summer Transfer Window Thread
According to the rags Will Hughes is available from Watford for around £13m.

One for the “we should be all over that” file.

Not sure we need him enough for the outlay.

Need a more defensive midfielder.

Plays deeper now than his Derby days. Could in a three with Livermore and Sawyers, or as an upgrade on either.

Still not sure who is going to make the interceptions, turnovers or track the runners in that 3.

Last season Saywers was too easily brushed off and Livermore too easily beaten... those 3 would allow us to keep possession well but any time we were pressed or forced into an error we'd be in real trouble.

It's worrying to think of some of the quality in the Prem having free rein to run at our defence... we really need some decent protection in front of the back 4.

According to E&S, looks like we will be paying a small fee and Burke for Robinson.

On to Cauley Woodrow if that happens. Surprised no one has been after him already.

Grabbed their winner yesterday.
Think he’d be a better fit for us than Grant if honest, and likely to only cost 2-3M

More than that. Toney went for 5M + add ons. Can't see Woodrow being less.

Pretty sure he was being touted at 2-3m but think he’s extended his contract til end of next season now.

I reckon a bid of £3-4m would have Barnsley thinking.

Nixon tweeted last night that Woodrow was one of 2-3 players that were on their way out of Barnsley. I would expect we're monitoring.

Non penalty goals in the Champ last season:

Austin: 1 every 251 mins (6 total)
Woodrow: 1 every 272 mins (12 total)
Grant: 1 every 281 mins (13 total)

Grant got 4 assists, Austin and Woodrow 2

Grant was the only of the 3 to score more than his Expected Goals Total (i.e. he's was a better finisher than the other two)

Spurs are interested in Hughes.

Krov all day for me.

Nketiah on loan linked with Toon.

Cue meltdown on H&V if that happens

Better fit in what way?

Grant is a better player and can play as a winger or lone striker.  His finishing is top class and in a team which creates chances will score a lot of goals.  Not sure Woodrow can make the step up.
