I’d love Morelos... mad as a box of frogs, but is that high energy, hard working, horrible bastard of a striker we need.  Charlie Adam is urging them to sell him for £8m... let’s do it Big Grin

In fairness the one good thing about Rangers is that they’d probably be open to Burke! £10m + Burke and throw in Harper on loan!

I'm guessing only Jenkins, Dowlng & the board really know how much we have to spend, & I really don't think it's in their best interests to broadcast that sum to all & sundry, therefore I seriously doubt Lepko or Percy have a clue on the figure available.
Is right. If we could sign the loanees and spend appropriately on a striker we'll have done all right. Our squad is ok strong and the footballing world--like the rest of the globe-- topsy turvy, with income streams like chalk bournes.

You really think our current squad and a new striker and we'll have done alright?
If we sign Pereira, Krov, Robinson, and Dia on perms we will have spent somewhere around 30 mill. 20 on a striker would be about right. That's 50 all in, and I'm sure I'm being overly optimistic. So that would class as alright. It's also important to note that younger players and academicians tend to improve, so we shouldn't need to buy ourselves out of trouble.

If the club count Pereira's money as next season then they can feck off.

Do you really think we'd get Robinson and Krov for under £10m? Decent business if we do... I'm assuming you excluded Pereira's £9m from the £30m you quote, as there is no chance of Diang for £11m!

Does anyone know when the players have to report back for pre-season? Will there even be a pre-season? If not what about all the usual friendlies that help the lower rung teams out with a bit of cash from a game with the upper teams?

You do seem to forget that in the 2019 accounts we were also running a £24m debt in the club.

I can hear the whining already if we don't spend £50m....and about how we will just roll over and get relegated.

I'd much rather we have a club fighting in the Prem - and if needs be at the top end of the champ - for the next 15 years than spunk a load of cash, at a time of great revenue uncertainty for clubs, and drop through the tiers and blow it all.

Get me a striker and a keeper and if we can get Krov and an other midfielder or Diangana I'll be happy we've spent £20-30m and kept the club solvent

I'd rather money spent on a LB ahead of a GK. I'm not confident that Gibbs will stay the course of the season with his dodgy hamstrings. I thought Townsend was sound back-up last season but I'd be worried if we had to rely on him for more than 10 games. I think Slav will stick with SJ and if we keep Palmer at the club, then I think we just need an experienced GK on a 12 month contract, there are a few about, I believe.

According to The Grauniad we held informal talks with QPR last week about Eze. This in light of Crystal Palace’s initial bid being rejected. 16m should get him according to the report.

Slav held talks with him on the pitch after our game!!  Big Grin

Ajeti apparently still thinking over a move to Celtic. SSN have just said the deal is a season loan to Perm at £5m!!!!

Given he was Slavs No1 target last summer that fee now looks very tempting. At £12-14m no way but £5m sounds very much like a punt worth taking to me especially as we get the season to decide. Even if we used him as back up.

Eze reports have escalated to £20m recently... I'd be a no at that price and a *if* Diang is that much he's better value.

Ajeti loan / option at £5m defintiely worth a go.

'Chelsea open to offers for third of first-team squad'

Spare a thought for Chelski. Poor loves are having to sell before they can buy...
Anyone on this list worth a look?
Moses perhaps..
