I haven’t checked the bags that arrived yesterday for size. I’ll let you know later.

The smaller pieces of charcoal I put underneath the electric lighter and the larger pieces on top.

This is what I use - bit of white spirit and 100% success rate so far. I have wonderful hair-free arms too.

I have those too.  You can use rolled up newspaper wrapped around the inside underneath the metal grill.

I’ve just checked a few bags for size of charcoal (through the bag) and they seem decent again.

Smaller pieces use like tinder.

We often BBQ all year round - a throwback from my SA days (Braai).
Always used wood in SA (wild plum a particular fave), stood around the fire and then raked the coals when ready - perfect!
