Are there actually any clubs outside the “big 6” that do this to make a big significant impact?
It is always talking about but there’s a big myth that it’s possible to make £m’s outside of bau football trading operations to benefit the club.
Hiring out conference areas / car parks for car boots etc etc doesn’t actually bring a material financial benefit for clubs
Same for extending your fan base - I always find it a myth that you can target a community that doesn’t support you to add housands onto your weekly gate.
This
Whilst we definitely need to increase revenue, it's still only going to just make a dent in the yearly shortfall that all clubs outside the prem have to make up. Even really well run clubs like Brisyol City, who have done really well increasing revenue streams, have needed between 14 to 20m each year from the owners to break even. If I remember correctly, they put less into the last accounting period because of the sale of Alex Scott for 23m.
Player trading will always make up the majority of income which in turn lessens the bill to the owner.
I am fully aware that clubs need to sell players but unless an owner invests in the playing squad, that is a sure fire way of limping along in the Championship for years to come at best. How many clubs in the Championship are genuinely competitive and are completely self sufficient, not just for one or two seasons but for a sustained period of time?
We clearly need a plan beyond just buying cheap and selling high, whether the owners ambition goes further than market stalls and community initiatives. Which I have no problem with, particularly community engagement wise I think is a great aspect of Bilkuls plans.
There are non self sufficient, that's the point. It's impossible without player trading and owners injections. There are ways, and we need to see this from Bilkul, if increasing revenue but as I say, it would always only make a dent in the overall losses. Player trading is ultimately the most effective way and we clearly have a lot of improvement to do there.

Got bored of reading after he said a bust up between Molumby and Ramsay, no headlocks with MJ, then no story.
Sounded like his usual sort of puff piece... I always appreciate when someone posts something like this if they give a quick synopsis so I don't have to read it if I don't want to. The first half of that article is nothing.

Significant hardly!!
We ended the season where most expected us too after a good start we were not under CC, the caretakers or TM consistent enough to get in the play offs.
Our issues were (apart from defence) clear, midfield not good enough and we didn’t score enough goals.
TM didn’t work but look at the factors, Palmer sold which unsettled the defence, trying to change styles of play in the middle of a season.
The whole back room structure is haphazard and too much power was given to Nestor and Pearce.
The problems on field reflect the issues off the field.

Dunno why he bothers? There's nothing whatsoever in that article that hasn't been aired more succinctly on here. In fact I'd say we have at least one poster genuinely more ITK. 'A manager'? Wouldnt be Mowbray would it Chris? Probably the last one that spoke to him when he had some relevance. A training ground bust up that's actually quite normal in a losing run? Well why mention it (other than to pad out half the article)? Was Patel really dishevelled? Did anyone learn anything from this piece? I very much doubt it. We all know there's been some bad decisions made, tell us something new.

"Everyone listening and watching is full of spittle, rage and anger. That’s football, 2026."
No they're not. It's a cheap generalisation that's bandied about all too often, usually by those that are full of rage, spittle and anger, but like to pretend they are not, but is not indicative of most fans. Pretty much all the fans I know, and that's quite a few, have genuine, valid and intelligent opinions of our plight, or just couldn't give a fuck, "still Albion ay we" mentality. None of them are storming the ramparts! FFS sake. This constant portrayal of football fans as uneducated, impatient morons is fucking disrespectful and wide of the mark. For that alone, he can get to fuck (said in a calm voice, devoid of anger and rage, with maybe just a hint of spittle, as I've just had a ginger biscuit with my tea!)

A sorry article to read, not always Lepkos biggest fan but that article was nail on head. And shows a lot of problems with the new owners, they maybe aren't the saviours we thought.

I know Chris and he's not like that at all CIM.
