Obviously some people aren't pissed off with being stuck in the house because of selfish fuckin morons. But then again there's always someone else to blame. There's a pandemic ffs. Time and place for everything. What happened to that young girl was fuckin dreadful and women are in danger at times from some horrible evil cnuts out there but passing a potentially deadly virus on to innocent victims is wrong.

Act like a dick, get treated like a dick. Usually if you think you're being unfairly treated you don't know you're being a dick.

Or come straight out of work and run to a football ground (an away day with 2 mates). Get to the ground 5 minutes late and be stopped from entering for being too drunk.  Not had a drop, straight from work and not taken any substances etc.  When trying to tell the copper that I’d run up from parking the car and literally just got here I was accused of being abusive (didn’t swear at all or raise voice) pushed and held against a wall in an uncomfortable position.

I was close to being arrested until the Sergeant came across, asked what was going on and immediately told him to release me so I could enter the ground.

To this day I’ve no idea what the copper thought he saw in me or why I was randomly picked (I would have had colours etc I’m not one of the Burberry/Stone Island brigade) and as far as I’m aware there’d been no trouble beforehand for him to think I’d been involved with.  He’d already let my 2 mates go in and I was the last of the 3 entering when he stopped me.

Maybe he was just bored I have no idea, what I do know was that he was a jumped up prick who was full of himself and thought he could intimidate a 17 yo kid.  This was over 30 years ago, when grounds were shit holes and there’d have been no cctv etc just him bullying me.

I would suggest you should be grateful never to have met one of those type of officers rather than assuming everyone who has an altercation with them is a dick.  Dangerous thinking to assume the police are always right and don’t ever act incorrectly, lie, be overly aggressive, act with racial prejudice or simply stitch people up.

Good and bad in all walks of life and that includes coppers.  The idea of power does seem to disproportionately attract a few more than it should.

Hopefully bodycams will help to stamp out some of this. 

But I'm sure the too-many-in-number unscrupulous "officers" will find a way round them.

What about the ones who see road traffic accidents on a daily basis and then have to inform the family that a loved one is not coming home?
Or the ones that go through hours of minute evidence trying to find the one piece that brings justice to a victim or their family
Or those that whose sleep is haunted by horrific images that they have to view to bring paedophiles to justice.
Or the ones that put themselves in harms way to take armed gangsters or terrorists off the street?

It's easy to cite instances of the wrong uns getting a bit heavy handed but, if me or my family were ever in real trouble, I know who I'd be calling.

A pal of mine who I run the kids' football with is in CID and is completely overrun with murders, stabbings and domestic violence in general at the moment. Couldn't imagine being in that same world of depravity on a daily basis. His wife is in child protection and deals with rape and abuse cases which is even worse. If you've had a run in with a police officer over something trivial then it just seems like bad luck to me, rather than tarring everyone with the same brush.

There are millions of sensible people out there, but it’s the minority who think they are doing the right thing with these protests that will cause the third wave, then they will blame everyone but themselves. The police have the right to stop these protests and what are they supposed to do when a man or a women kicks of because there being fined for being in the wrong.
They cannot do right from wrong in some circumstances, they arrest someone for kicking of then someone else joins in so then they start shouting it’s police brutality. All the public need to do is stay home what happened to Sarah is totally wrong. But protesting will not alter what happened.

Well said Fido. Good and bad with all. The police have a hideous job to do with some of the pond life they encounter on a daily basis. They can have bad days too where they call it wrong.

Same daft generalisations go with everything. All men are dangerous, all journalists tell lies, all Muslims are bombers/ all Irish are bombers (1980s). Crass stupidity and sweeping generalisations based on the worst of all kinds shows rank stupidity.
