Our Police
#1
For me our Police cannot do right from wrong. This whohar about the heavy handed police at the vigil for Sarah. Now it’s sad and totally wrong what happened to her and have no sympathy for her killers, but the police are now copping out for being heavy handed against the people who wrongly turned up in this Pandemic breaking the rules. If the people who turned up had stayed home like they should have done, the police would not have had to waste there time policing something that should not have occurred. When are people going to realise there is a pandemic on and hundreds and thousands still break the law. If they just had styed away and did what millions of good citizens are doing there would be none of this outrage. In normal circumstances I would have been one of the first to place flowers or join in a vigil but there is nothing normal about the last 12 months. Sorry this is just my opinion but I do think our police do a good .

Police should never be heavy handed unless lives are in direct danger.

Battering women lighting candles in remembrance of a woman allegedly murdered by one of their colleagues was never going to end well.

This.

However, in agreement with wba13 in that what does it take for people to realise that we are in the midst of a pandemic and that the message is simple - Stay At Home.

The Met called this badly again.

They do themselves no favours.

Cressida Dick seems to go from one crisis after another. The way they handled Operation Midland, egged on by likes of Tom Watson, an utter disgrace.
Assume the bloke in charge (Sadiq Khan) is passing the buck? He's one slippery fugger.

I should of explained better I agree the police should not be heavy handed yes. But they should not have have had to be there in the first place. Just stay home please.

Trouble is, there is every chance that (some of) the people who went to the "vigil" were out exercising and just joined in.

Then they end up on the floor with police on top of them.

In this instance I would guess that the chance of genuine troublemakers would be low.

Personally, I wouldn't go to a vigil or whatever during lockdown as we're supposed to be suppressing Covid.

However, I was at a Birmingham BLM protest last year. Why? Because it was outside of the office. Incidentally, Joe Lycett was wondering around that with his entourage and our Brendon showed his face - very briefly.

Turning up in a mob against advice and Covid rules is endangering lives. Some on the front line being man handled by police were so worried about contracting it they were wearing balaclavas with just their eyes showing. You know the same masks that nutballs wear to attack people in
