Not really. For example, if it were libellous, follower count wouldn't matter. Likewise if someone sent a death threat, saying "I only have five followers!" wouldn't be any mitigation.
Comparing a football commentator to a serial killer and a dictator is very dim behaviour, but it shouldn't be illegal.
