All things I’ve heard in recent weeks.
These opinions are simply bonkers.
Reading similar regarding Mowbray.
I do wonder what WBA fans actually want
Everyone has different opinions that's life. Don't let a couple of planks on social media misguide you into thinking their views are somehow representative of the majority.
Simply most fans, if you did a poll, believe Eustace would be a decent appointment. I'd say if Mowbray is appointed many will feel the same with him.
Equally, whoever is appointed will be given a good welcome at the Hawthorns. Many people don't post on social media and are happy just to get behind the club.
We don't know the criteria of exactly what the club is looking for and none of us have any idea of the intricacies of how our footballing side of the club is set up and how this affects the recruitment, with some popular names probably not fitting into our culture.
Like all of us, I have no control over this process, found it frustrating that the Wicky leak got out, but I actually think based on his CV Nestor probably knows what he's doing.
I think most fans would like the uncertainty to end, but most have the intelligence to know we have to get the right man in, even if that keeps us in limbo for 1 or 2 games more.

I think you can say you would take Eustace as manager and not Mowbray and still be rational and as bright as other fans on here.

I think everyone expected a new person (could be a woman!) in charge in time to get the team up for Stoke...
So far, so underwhelming.
None of the names really excite me, but will see who comes in and what they do / how they get us playing before deciding.
First poster I have seen to mention a woman- Sarina Wiegman
Pioneers for Black footballers, Pioneers for women?
There is absolutely no woman coach anywhere in the world who has managed at a high level in the mens game in a position to take on a role of this level.
It may happen one day, but it's miles away.

I thought we were going with the head coach type structure rather than the manager who controls everything. Are we abandoning this just because we couldn't get Wicky? Or will the likes of Mowbray / Eustace / whoever fit into the head coach structure?
Just not comfortable with us lurching from one approach to the other, if that's what we're actually doing.
Mowbray is a coach.
Simple as that.
Listen to his interview last Friday. He explains all.
So he should fit in which is good - ideally if he comes IMO it should be on a short term deal till the Summer then decide if he's going to continue or not depending on how we've done and what he wants to do

Anything said now is an opinion, nothing more, and that's fine, some like coach A, some don't, some like coach B, some don't etc. etc. The truth is whether the appointment is a good one or not will not, truly, be known for some time.
No point getting all riled up about it as every one of us has the same potential to be wrong.
Said many times, I was furious when we employed Megson as I have close links to Stoke and heard a lot of horror stories. I was wrong, same as people would have been wrong about Atkinson, Mowbray, Clarke, RDM, Bilic, Hodgson etc. etc. There would also have been those that thought the likes of Irvine, Mel, Bruce were a master stroke. They too were wrong.
This is a massive decision and it's right to take time, whether it takes a day or a month though, it could still go either way.

Well said, Bob.
We don't know what's going on behind the scenes and that's how it should be.
I do wonder whether there's anything going on with Wicky still..
Could he still come, with different coaches? After all, there are plenty out there
Only a guess...

Good post mon. I was enthusiastic about the Val appointment, having seen his Barnsley team a few times. I was onboard with Bruceys appointment, as i felt he'd been given a rough ride by deluded Horse Punchers and had a point to prove.
I was very wrong on both counts.
Whoever is appointed, we just have to sit back, roll with the punches, and get on with it.

Its pure luck if you get the appointment right in my opinion. Thryre all a risk. You could have someone who's done 1000+ games..and it doesnt work.
You could have someone who's done 50..and it goes well.
So im never sure how 'making the right appointment" at this stage can be judged.

I've given up trying to think too deeply about it all and have resolved to simply give whoever gets the job a fair chance.

I’ve decided to boo the new boss from day one.
